Young Leaders Program Information

About the Program

The Young Leaders Program focuses on the development of the core skills needed to enhance young people’s involvement in leadership roles within their community. Through this program there is an emphasis on building confidence and an understanding of youth culture.

The program involves a series of workshops, guest speakers, mentoring and will culminate in an exciting leadership event which you will be involved in organising.

Who are we looking for?

Young people aged between 14 - 18 interested in positive leadership activities to promote respect, inclusion and safety in the community.

You must live in Hume and be able to attend the majority of the session dates outlined below

What commitment is required?

·  To attend training sessions.

·  Meet regularly.

·  Get involved in activities through Project HAVEY that interest you.

·  Assist young people participating in the project to understand other cultures and acceptable behaviors.

·  Maintain regular contact with Project HAVEY Team Leader.

·  Participate in program evaluation.

Thursday8th Sept 4pm – 6.30pm

Saturday 10th Sept 1pm – 5pm

Monday 15th Sept 4pm – 6.30pm

Thursday 22nd Sept 4pm – 6.30pm

Monday 26th Sept 9.30am – 4.00pm

Monday 3rd Oct 9.30pm – 12.30pm

Where a training session occurs during school hours permission from your school will need to be obtained in order for you to attend.

All sessions will be held at Youth Central, 33-37 Pearcedale Pde, Broadmeadows.

Food and refreshments will be supplied at each session.
