TO SET UP A MODEL UNIT
YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING ITEMS
For a Studio:
In Kitchenette area :
- Table
- 2 matching chairs (not chairs from facility dining room)
- 1 large framed picture
- 3 matching canisters
- 1 kitchen towel, 1 oven mitt (matching each other, complimenting the canisters)
- 2 place settings for table (not facility dinnerware)
- 2 place mats and cloth napkins (complimenting dinnerware)
- 1 table centerpiece
- knick-knacks in moderation
In Bathroom:
- 2 bath towels
- 1 hand towel
- 1 wash cloth
- 1 soap dish with unused guest soaps
- 1 toothbrush holder (with unused toothbrush)
- 1 fabric shower curtain
- 1 knick-knack
- 1 roll of toilet paper on holder
Living/Sleeping area:
- 1 bed (twin or queen)
- 1 nightstand (2 for queen bed)
- 2 framed pictures
- 2 lamps
- 1 armchair
- 1 side table
- Several books/vase/small baskets of potpourri, etc.
- pillow shams
- comforter or bedspread
- light bulbs for all lamps
TO SET UP A MODEL UNIT

For 1 Bedroom Unit:
Kitchenette and Bathroom are the same as in studio
Bedroom:
- 1 bed (queen or twin)
- 1 nightstand (2 for queen bed)
- 2 framed pictures
- 1 table lamp (2 for queen bed set-up- 1 for each nightstand)
- 1 low side-by-side dresser or 1 highboy dresser
- 1 book
- 1 knick knack for top of dresser
Living area:
- 2 armchairs (if they will fit- not facility dining room chairs)
- 1 loveseat
- 1 coffee table
- 1 sofa table
- 2 framed prints
- 1 floor lamp
- 1 table lamp
- 1 sofa side table
- books/knick knacks in moderation
Special Notes on Model Set-up:
~ Please refer to pictures on following pages for a visual of model set-up
~ When making a bed in a model unit, make sure that no mattress is showing and that pillows are in pillow shams (not just pillow cases)
~ If any items from the above lists are missing from your inventory; check with the Regional Vice President of Marketingbefore setting up a model unit. He or she will ensure that you receive the necessary items in a timely manner.
~DO NOT use furniture or other items that have been left in your facility by prior residents unless it is approved by the Regional Vice president of Marketing.
~ Check daily to make sure that staff or residents have not been using the model unit (check the bed and the toilet).
~Pay close attention to every little detail!
