PRINCIPLES

A good education doesn’t happen overnight. It can take years and can be expensive. To reward you for your commitment to continuing your education, CRW sponsors the Tuition Assistance Reimbursement program.

PROCEDURES

How to Become Eligible:

Hourly team members must work and maintain 25 hours per week to participate in the Tuition Assistance Program (hours are calculated for a 90-day time period prior to the date of course completion).

You must be continuously employed by CRW at least six months prior to the date of course completion.Graduate Studies require one year of service.

You must be actively employed with Carlson Restaurants at the time of the tuition reimbursement distribution.

Courses/Programsthat are covered:

College courses must generally be part of a degree plan at an accredited college or university.

Graduate level studies are covered.

English as a Second Language (ESL) and foreign language courses are covered.

GED or high school courses are covered.

Vocational school courses will be considered on an individual basis with consideration given to programs that relate to the company’s needs.

Only tuition expenses are reimbursable, except for work towards a High School diploma or GED, in which case expenses will be fully reimbursed.

Reimbursement Procedures

Any passing grades of “C” or better will be reimbursed at 100% up to $1,250 depending on consecutiveyears of participation in the CRW Tuition Assistance Program. (see chart below).

Year 2 / $750
Year 3 / $1,000
Year 4 / $1,250
Graduate / $1,500

After one year of service, Graduate level courses will be reimbursed up to a $1,500 per year (4 year limit).

Reimbursement will appear on your paycheck approximately 30 days after the Tuition Assistance Program Application, receipts of tuition expenses, and grades are received.

Reimbursement may be used to satisfy previous deductions not taken. (Example: taxes or insurance premiums in arrears, etc.)

All Fall/Winter Tuition Assistance Program Applications received in December will be reimbursed in January of the following year.

Reimbursement will apply for the year in which it was paid.

Reimbursement cannot duplicate payment that you receive under any other educational assistance programs including grants, scholarships, taps, or other sources.

Training programs, developmental courses, workshops or seminars in specialized areas that are not part of a regular student curriculum do not qualify for Tuition Assistance under this Program.

Applying for Tuition Assistance

The reimbursement Application Form and all required documentation must be submitted to Team Member Services, TMS, within60 days of course completion.

Obtain the Tuition Assistance Program Applications form located at Details on MENU>Benefits>Other Benefits>Tuition Assistance Application.

At the end of each semester, submit a Tuition Assistance Program Application to TMS.

Attach a copy of the itemized receipt confirming tuition expenses for the semester’s classes.

Attach a copy of your grades for the semester.
