COMPETITION CONDITIONS COMPETITIVE LICENCE No. SSL3/15/008

The Competition will be held under A.S.A./Fina Laws.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

IN ORDER FOR COMPETITIONS TO BE HELD AT THE HIGHEST STANDARD CLUBS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUPPLY AT LEAST TWO ( 2 ) JUDGES, ONE ( 1 ) SCORER AND ONE ( 1 ) \ OTHER VOLUNTEER. MORE INFORMATION WILL BE SUPPLIED WITH THE CLUB INVITATION.

1. The Competition will be an Age Group Competition and consist of a Technical Section (Figures)

and a Free Routine Section consisting of Solos/Duets/Combination / Team

2. All competitors must be registered swimmers and members of an A.S.A. affiliated club. Swimmers must

be Category 2 registered swimmers for the ASA Competitive strand .

Competitors must have been members of the club they wish to represent at least 60 days prior to the

competition date. If a competitor is a member of more than one club please check A.S.A. rulings.

3. Costumes for Figure or Technical Elements shall be BLACK with no logo and competitors shall wear a

white cap with no markings. Costumes for Routines shall conform to A.S.A.Fina Law

Headdresses shall conform to A.S.A/Fina Law. No jewellery shall be worn. Moderate facial cosmetics may

be worn.

4. Competitors must report to the Clerk of the Course not less than 30 minutes prior to the start of the

competition and produce their A.S.A. Log Book.

Failure to produce an up to date Log Book will result in the Competitor not being able to swim.

5. Team managers must report all withdrawals of competitors from their clubs to the Referee or Chief Clerk

of the Course at the earliest possible moment and preferably not later than 15 minutes prior to the start of

the competition. The object of this condition is to enable any changes to swimming order or to Team entries

to be arranged. Non compliance of this condition could affect Team or Duet reserves being swum or Solo

Routine selection.

6. The start of the Competition will be deemed to be at the commencement of the Warm Up session.

7. The Organiser shall, when all the entries have closed, arrange a random draw for the order of appearance.

8. Swimmers may only compete in their appropriate age group.

9. A competitor may enter only one Solo, Duet and one Team in each section of free routines of the relevant

age group.

10. Competitors in Duets and Teams must be members of the same club.

11. A TEAM shall consist of not less than four (4) or more than EIGHT (8) members.

2 Reserve Swimmers may be nominated for the TEAM.

A Combination shall consist of no less than 4 swimmers and no more than 10 swimmers.2 reserve swimmers may be nominated.

12. The total number of swimmers entered for a Duet shall not exceed three (3) one of which shall be a

Reserve.

13. ENTRY CRITERIA

13.1. 12 & under Swimmers 12 years and under, but not younger than 8 years of age in the year the

competition with MINIMUM Skill Level 2

13.2. 13/14/ yrs. Swimmers must have a minimum Skill 3

13.3. 15/16/17/yrs. Swimmers must have a minimum Skill 4

13.4. 18/19 yrs. Swimmers must have a minimum Skill 4

13.5. All age Groups will be eligible to enter Solo/Duet /Team

13.6. Skill Levels to be attained at least 4 weeks prior to the Competition. 6th SEPTEMBER 2015

13.7. Figures to be performed these will be selected by the Yorkshire Synchronised Swimming Committee

at its first meeting of the year from the Fina Age Group Figure List.

13.8. All competitors must enter the Technical competition to be eligible to compete in the

Free Solo, Free Duet and Free Team events.

13.9. The Yorkshire S.A. Synchronised Swimming Committee will decide at its first meeting of the year the

format for the Technical Competitions and the information sent out with the Competition invitations.

The Organiser shall, when all the entries have closed, arrange a random draw for the order of

appearance.

14 COMPETITION CRITERIA AND FORMAT

14.1. The competitions shall consist of two parts:

.a) A Technical Competition and a Free Routine Competition.:- The Technical Competition will be a

Figure Competition.

. Each swimmer must perform in the Figure Competition. Swimmers must have competed in the

figure competition to be eligible to swim in a Solo, Duet and /or Team Routine.

b) Solo Competition: The TEN (10) highest scoring Competitors of the Figure Competition in each Age Group will be invited to perform a Solo Routine. Scores from the Technical Competition will be carried forward to the Solo Routine competition. A minimum of 50% of those invited to swim are to be Yorkshire entries.

c ) Duet Competition: In each Age Group Couples (who must be members of the same club) with the EIGHT (8) highest combined average Figure score will qualify to perform Free Duet routines. Scores from the Figure Competition will be carried forward to the Free Duet Competition. A minimum of 50% of those invited to swim are to be Yorkshire entries.

14.2. In each Age Group Solo/Duet events where the selection of Routines is made by the results of

the figure Competition, then should a withdrawal be necessary of a routine, the notification of the

withdrawal MUST be made immediately following the completion of the relevant figure competition

and prior to the selection of the Swimmers for the Solo and Duet Competitions.

Should a Routine be withdrawn under these conditions and that routine be eligible to swim in the

routine competition then the next highest average score from the figure competition will be invited

to perform their routine. This will continue to the 16th highest Technical scores for Solos and 14

highest combined average scores for Duets.

If this condition is not followed then the Routine Competition will proceed with the TWELVE (12)

selected routines minus the withdrawn routine/s for Solos and TEN (10) for Duets.

15 TEAMS

15.1. Only ONE TEAM per club will be eligible to compete for the Millennium Cup.

This TEAM must be designated ON THE ENTRY FORM AT THE TIME OF ENTRY.

Should the designated TEAM be withdrawn by its Club then representation to re-designate a second TEAM already entered by that Club may be made to the Competition Organiser up to 48 hrs prior to the Competition.

15.2. Clubs may enter more than 1 TEAM. If Clubs enter more than 1 Free Team in an Age Group then

the first entry must have the maximum 8 competitors.

15.3. A Team shall consist of not less than 4 (four) nor more than 8 (eight) swimmers

COMBINATIONS

Age group Recreational Combinations may be swum according to Current NAG Rules regarding Ratio of Skill to Recreational Swimmers.

Only ONE Combination per Club may be eligible for the Millennium Cup competition and should be clearly marked on the Entry Form.

ALL ROUTINE TIMES WILL BE PUBLISHED IN THE INFORMATION DISTRIBUTED TO CLUBS WHEN INVITATIONS AND INFORMATION IS SENT TO CLUBS CONCERNING THE COMPETITION

17. PENALTIES

A.S.A. Synchronised Swimming Technical Rules 714,715,716,717,718,719 to 72404 shall apply as per the

current A.S.A. Handbook or the current Fina Handbook

18 ENTRY FORMS

18.1. Forms to be downloaded from either www.yorkssynchro.btck.co.uk or www.yorkshireswimming.org

18.2. Completed entry forms, in DUPLICATE, shall be submitted to the Yorkshire Synchronised Swimming

Secretary or Organiser whose details will be on the back of Entry Forms, together with the appropriate

entry fees, not later than 28 days prior to the date of the competition

18.3. FIGURE ENTRY FORMS MUST STATE CLEARLY IF A SOLO IS TO BE SWUM.PLEASE

ONLY TICK THE BOX, DO NOT WRITE “YES” .ONLY TICK THE SOLO BOX IF A SOLO

IS DEFINITELY READY FOR THE COMPETITION.

18.8. ENTRIES MUST BE ON THE CORRECT COLOURED PAPER OR WILL NOT BE

ACCEPTED

18.9. If more than 1 Team is entered from a Club then each Team must have a designation

i.e. “A” Team “B” Team (We cannot expect the Scorers to guess which team is which)

18.10. Changes may be made only after consultation with and the agreement of the Referee and Competition

Organiser up to 24 hours before the start of the competition.

18.11. All entry forms must have ALL DETAILS CORRECTLY FILLED IN AND SIGNED BY THE

CLUB SECRETARY AND SWIMMER.THIS INCLUDES THE DATE (i.e. 01/01/99) THE

SWIMMER JOINED THE CLUB. JUST THE YEAR WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

18.12. No individual entries will be accepted.

18.13. All entries must be accompanied by the relevant entry fee: - £6 per Swimmer and £18 per

TEAM /COMBINATION

18.14. Late entries/incomplete entries/entries without fees or entries on the incorrect coloured sheets will

NOT be accepted. (It is in the interest of Clubs to submit their Entries forms BEFORE the closing

date where possible to enable any incorrect entries to be corrected.

19. MUSIC

19.1. All music must be registered with the A.S.A..

19.2. ALL MUSIC MUST BE MCPS LICENCED WITH THE PRODUCT NUMBER AND LICENCE

REFERENCE NUMBER ENTERED ONTO THE ENTRY SHEETS.FAILURE TO ENTER MUSIC

LICENCE DETAILS WILL RESULT IN THE ENTRY BEING REJECTED Please contact the

Yorkshire Synchro Sec. for advice if needed.

19.3. All routine CD’s/Tape Cassettes/IPod/MP3 for Yorkshire S.A. Competitions must be correctly labelled

with all the recommended A.S.A. labelling. PLEASE NOTE I/Pod and MP3 ARE NOT CURRENTLY USED BY THE A.S.A AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS AN EMERGENCY BACK UP.

19.4. ALL ROUTINES ON C.D. WITH A TAPE CASSETTE BACKUP

PLEASE NOTE THAT REWRITABLE CD’s SHOULD NOT BE USED AS THEY ARE NOT

COMPATABLE WITH THE MUSIC SYSTEMS.

I would ask you ALL to ensure a good quality routine recording with ample volume.

The Music equipment can only reproduce what is on YOUR CD/TAPE/IPod/MP3.

20 TOP CLUB TROPHY

Points will awarded as follows: 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in Figures/Solos/Duets and Team Competitions.

1st place 3 points, 2nd place 2 points, and 3rd place 1 point The winner will be the Club with the most points. This is open to ALL CLUBS.
