York Public Health Council Elects Executive Committee

The York District Public Health Council has elected the following members to the Council’s Executive Committee: Chair, Robert Yandow, Town Manager, Town of York ; Edward (Ted) Trainer, Dr.P.H., Director of Healthy Aging, Southern Maine Agency on Aging, Co-Chair; Maryanna Arsenault, President & CEO, HomeHealth Visiting Nurses; Robert Bohlmann, Director, York County Emergency Management Agency; Ed Boucher, Ocean Park Resident; Kathryn Davis, President & CEO, United Way of York County; Deb Erickson-Irons, Director, Choose to be Healthy Partnership, York Hospital; Bethany Fortier, Project Director, Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition, University of New England; Marc Hiller , Dr.P.H., Department of Health Management and Policy, College of Health and Human Services, University of New Hampshire; Dolores (Dee) Hopper, Executive Director, Cancer Care Center of York County; Chris Quint, Director of Public Affairs, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England; Megan Rochelo, Director, Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition, University of New England; and Sharon-Leahy-Lind, Maine CDC Public Health Liaison for the York District.
The Council’s objective is to coordinate and streamline public health efforts in YorkCounty in order to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of public health delivery. The group is brought together by the MaineCenter for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC), an office of the Department of Health and Human Services. The membership is diverse and features many leaders and public health partners from YorkCounty.

The next quarterly meeting of the full York District Public Health Council is scheduled for January 21, 2009, from 2:30-4:30 PM and will be hosted by the Town of York at the York Public Library, 15 Long Sands Road.
