Yellow the Bracken

Yellow the bracken, golden the sheaves

Rosy the apples, crimson the leaves

Mist on the hillside, clouds gray and white

Autumn good morning; summer good night.

Yuki

Yuki yakonkon, a rarehya kon, kon.

Fu tehwafutehwa, zu n zu n tsumoru

Ya ma mo no ha ramo, wah ta boshikaburi

Karehki, no korazu, ha nagasaku

Snow is falling, kon, kon,

Hail is falling, kon, kon,

Snow falling, snow drifting, down down hail and snow.

Hills wearing snow white cotton caps and cloaks of drifting snow.

There on the cold, bare branches snow flowers are in bloom.

Winter

Part 1: When the winter comes we gather

To dance and sing together

When the winter comes we gather

To dance our cares away.

Pert 2: (pat) Everybody clap hands

(pat) everybody sing now

(pat) sing a song of gladness

(pat) sing a song of joy

Part 3: winter, cold winter

Blows hard against my window pane.

Dance ‘round the fire

‘til springtime comes again.

For the Winter

It’s chilly tonight. I see my breath in the air.

Suddenly fall has given way to the winter.

The wind’s in the trees swirling the leaves everywhere.

The nip at my cheek reminds me of what is to come.

And I sigh a sigh as I say goodbye

To the painted trees and the autumn sky.

And I look instead to the days ahead.

And I brace myself for the winter.

Nature it seems, knows when December is here.

Birds have flown south, leaving me for the winter.

The next thing you know blankets of snow will appear,

Bringing a beauty only the winter can bring.

And I sigh a sigh as I say goodbye

To the painted trees and the autumn sky.

And I look instead to the days ahead.

And I brace myself for the winter, for the winter,

for the winter, for the winter.

Winter Fantasy

Part 1: Snowflakes falling all over town.

Slipping, sliding, everybody’s rushing ‘round.

There’s an icy chill in the air telling us that winter’s really here

Oh! I’m so glad that winter is here! Grab your sled and

let out a happy cheer because it’s snowing, blowing all through the day

winter winds will surely blow all your cares away.

Part 2: Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh,

O’er the fields we go laughing all the way.

Bells on bobtails ring making spirits bright

What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh, hey!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

Autumn Leaves

The falling leaves drift by my window,

The autumn leaves of red and gold.

I see your smile, the summer sunshine,

The sunburned hands and sunburned nose.

Since you went away the days grow long, and soon I’ll hear

old winter’s song.

But I miss you most of all my dear friend

When autumn leaves start to fall.

Since you went away the days grow long, and soon I’ll hear

old winter’s song.

But I miss you most of all my dear friend

When autumn leaves start to fall.

The Nutcracker in About Three Minutes

(Overture) Once on a winter’s night when all the house was sleeping,

There came a wondrous sight, a spectacle before the eyes.

Toys underneath the tree with soldier mice competing,

All seemed to come to life. A battle was about to start.

The mouse king roared and waved his sword,

But all in vain, he was defeated.

Then peace returned again, a kingdom ever grateful.

Join with the happy band and journey to the land of sweets.

(Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy)

Delicate and lovely dancers with nimble feet, so petite,

float across the floor.

Beautiful as snowflakes, with each beat, in air meet, then retreat

As they race and soar;

Gently swaying, interplaying, grace displaying, then stop.

(Russian Dance:Trepak)

Hark to the sight of Cossacks dancing.

See them, row by row, advancing.

Squatting, kicking, tempo’s quickening

At a hurried pace they go.

Forcibly the stage commanding,

With a feat of strength demanding.

Colors streaming, costumes gleaming,

Adding to the brilliant show.

What athletic skill they’re showing,

Crossing, turning, to-and-fro-ing,

Racing to the final bow.

(Waltz of the Flowers)

Two people hand in hand, making a portrait of beauty;

Merriment is in the cool night air,

happy thoughts are blooming everywhere.

All at once an enchanted scene is unfolding.

Gliding, sliding, twirling, elegantly whirling,

Hearts together turning, joined now this moment as one.

Love lasts forever, parting them never,

Surely its more than a dream!
