YEAR 9 Enrichment Week in Hauteville Sur Mer - France

YEAR 9 Enrichment Week in Hauteville Sur Mer - France

1 February 2016

Dear Parents / Guardians

YEAR 9 Enrichment week in Hauteville sur Mer - France,

11 July – 15 July 2016.

We are planning to take our Year 9 pupils on a residential trip to Acorn Adventure’s centre at Hauteville sur Mer Normandy France on the following dates Monday 11 July 2016 to Friday 15 July 2016.

Acorn is the leading independent school travel specialist and has been operating for over 28 years. They offer unique learning outside the classroom opportunities which are effectively combined with true adventure, real outdoors and fantastic activities. The Acorn experience stretches far beyond the academic, raising self-confidence, motivation and self-esteem.

Acorn has an exemplary safety management system and were the first school travel specialist to be awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Badge. They are accredited by AALA, ABTA, ATOL, BCU, RYA, STF, ROSPA and IOL are a reliable, reputable and safe organisation.

We are fortunate to have secured a booking with them as they are extremely popular with school groups. We are hoping most of our Year 9 pupils would like to go on this visit as at Henley-in-Arden School we wish to give the children the opportunity to widen their educational experience beyond the classroom.

Residential courses organised by the school are an optional, but invaluable part of the national Curriculum. Pupils benefit enormously from the experience, both educationally and socially, and I feel certain that the Multi-Activity course including water and land sports and an excursion day to the famous and well known site: Mont St Michel we have chosen this year will prove to be both enjoyable and very worthwhile.

We would like to offer this opportunity to the maximum of pupils from the present Year 9. This trip will take place from Monday 11 July 2016 to Friday 15 July 2016.

Pupils will not need a passport, we will apply for a group passport but they will need a passport photo and an up to date EH1C medical card.

Cost

The expected cost of £320.00 is based on an estimated 70+ pupils taking part and includes return travel by coach and ferry, insurance, full board accommodation, equipment and instruction, and the full programme selected by us with Acorn staff.

Deposit

To confirm your booking, an initial non-returnable deposit of £ 65.00 will be required.

To pay the deposit of £ 65.00 please use Parent Pay. A receipt will be issued. Contract

Should your son/daughter subsequently withdraw from the trip at any time, the deposit monies paid are non-refundable unless a replacement can be found. If monies are not paid by Friday 29 April 2016, the places and monies will all be forfeited. I must also emphasise that should your son/daughter prove at a later date unworthy of accompanying the trip, he/she will be withdrawn and any monies paid would be non-refundable unless a replacement could be found. Any such decision would only be made if it was felt that your

son/daughter was likely to endanger either the success of the trip, their own safety or the safety or enjoyment of other pupils on the trip.

Should you either choose to withdraw your child, or should he/she be withdrawn for the reasons mentioned above, you might be liable to continue payments if the decrease in number of the participants affects the cost of the visit.

Finally, if you want to familiarise yourself with what Acorn Adventure can offer, you can visit to find more detailed information.
