2. Lessons’ structure

There are three categories in each lesson:

1. A presentation of the new vocabulary with visual stimuli, voice and text (you can also choose the voiceless version if you want to have more control on the rhythm of the lesson.)

2. A printable cue card sheet to develop a role-play after the presentation

3. A speaking test based on the presentation slides.

3. User’s guide

A)Lessons’ presentation

1. To run the presentation, roll the wheel on your mouse one notch or click the left button once. If you have a white board, click on it once.

2. If you use the voiced version, a recording of the item to learn will be heard when the relevant visual stimuli appears.

3. The new vocabulary will appear when you turn the mouse wheel one more notch. The vocabulary will remain on the screen when you pass to the next item. If you roll the wheel backward, you will see the items disappearing from the screen one by one. It is useful if you wish to practice memorization of the items or/and depending on the ability taught.

4. Some presentations contain several slides. It is up to the teacher to split the lesson to make it relevant to the ability of the group.

5. Most lessons present all, or most of the vocabulary, on a single slide. It is useful when the pupils use the cue cards provided for the role play as they can peep at the screen when their memory fails them.

B) Role play

1. Most lessons are accompanied by a cue card sheet which you need to download and print. You can choose to print only the pictures or the pictures with the vocabulary sheet at the back, depending on the ability taught.

2. To do so, first print the pictures sheet first on its own, then put it again in the feeding tray of your printer and choose to print page two only. The vocabulary should appear exactly at the back of each picture.

3. It is worth printing the cue card sheet with a color printer, because if you laminate them you will be able to use the cue cards for years. Print as many sheets as you need for the group, then after laminating, cut the cue cards free.

4. The cue cards can be used in many ways proper to modern language role play practice.

– Asking and replying questions with several partners (swapping cards every time)

– Use them as a card deck when appropriate (daily routine for instance)

– Use 2 cards when the role play requires more than one brief exchange

C)Speaking tests

1. The speaking tests slides allow you to test or check the knowledge acquired by pupils the following lesson or during revisions.

2. Pupils should be able to remember the patterns and the vocabulary when they see the visual stimuli, but for lower ability pupils, you can reveal the partial answer, as an extra trigger to memory.
