GRADE 5 CAMP – SOVEREIGN HILL
MONDAY 20th - WEDNESDAY 22ndJULY, 2015
Dear Year 5 Parents,
- Less than a week to go! All permission notices, medical forms and Camp contracts should have been returned by now. Without them a student cannot attend the camp. Thank you to those of you who have returned the camp medical forms & Contracts so promptly.
Bus Travel
We will be travelling in 2 coaches fitted with seat belts for our trip to & from Ballarat. This will ensure comfort, safety & space for us all. We will have one stop of about 30 minutes on the way there, to eat our playlunch.
Please note the following:
- All children need to be at school on the day of departure, Monday 20thJuly, no later than 8.30 am. There will be a designated space for bags & sleeping bags out on the front basketball court. We depart school as close to 9.00am as possible. It would be appreciated if some parents could assist the bus drivers to pack the buses while the teachers are getting the students ready for departure.
- ALL MEDICATIONS (except asthma puffers) are to be handed to Kate Wardlawin room 5(opposite the staff room) by parents, by 8.30am, for recording of details. Children who use asthma puffers must carry them at all times. These medications must be registered also. Please provide all medicine glass/spoons in a plastic bag, and ensure that all medical items have your child’s name clearly marked, with the correct dosage. You do not need to provide Panadol. We will be taking our own supply – in children’s liquid form, children’s soluble tablets and regular swallowing tablets.
- Travel Sickness medication: this usually needs to be taken 1-2 hours prior to travel. If your child is affected, please ensure medication is taken prior to arrival at school. They will be seated at the front of the bus.
4. Attached is a packing list for camp. Remember it is July and very cold in Ballarat so pack a waterproof coat, beanie, sturdy shoes and a warm coat as they will be essential for Monday night night’s show, “Blood on the Southern Cross”. Lots of layers of clothes are good too.
Remember, if you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to come & speak to us.
Yours sincerely,
Karen, Kate and Glenn.
Grade 5 Team.
