XAT 2014

Similar to CAT & MAT, XAT is also an aptitude test that is held for judging the management skills of aspirants, who wish to attain a higher managerial level position in their distant future. Since past 5 decades, XLRI, one of the premier institutes for Management has been conducting XAT exam at all India level. The exam is basically conducted by those business schools that are associated with Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) or XLRI. There are almost 100 Xavier Association of Management Institutes other than XLRI that exercise XAT’s score for the admission to their post graduate courses in management.

Graduate in any stream from a recognized university with not less than 50% marks is eligible to appear for XAT exam

Candidate, who wishes to pursue their post graduate courses in management in XLRI associated institutes, must register online for XAT by filling the online XAT form. The application form can be obtained from the official website.

Post submission of personal details and payment option details, student will be provided with his or her XAT ID and password through mail. After this, student should log in to his/her e-mail address provided for registration and validate the mail received by him/her from XAT by logging in again.

Students must retain the XAT ID and password as both will be required in future for downloading the Admit Card. Then, they will be asked to download and print the XAT pay slip on A4 size paper. The printed pay slip of XAT is needed to proceed further by candidate in order to get IDBI bank’s seal against Rs.950. Sealing of the pay slip can be done in any IDBI bank’s branches. Next, candidates have to upload his/her latest photograph with signature and fill the bank transaction ID with date of payment.

XAT 2014 will be held on 5th January 2014

Last date for Apply Online:- 22nd November 2013.

XAT Syllabus

There is no set syllabus for the exam but questions will be asked on various common subjects such as Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making, Logical Reasoning and Data interpretation.

XAT Preparation

Since XAT is among the toughest exams in India, it is recommended that students should take up any of the top coaching institutes that prepare well to crack XAT. It is advisable that aspirants should try to attempt sample papers and previous years’ papers in order to find the loop hole during preparation.
