Math:

We are working through module 4, angle measure and plane figures! Students will be working with points, line segments, rays, lines, and angles. They will also investigate perpendicular and parallel lines.

Reading:

Students are reading two nonfiction texts: Hamburger History and Tacos Take Over. As they read, they are looking for similarities and differences in the history of hamburgers and tacos in America. They will also plan and write an extended response comparing and contrasting the two texts.

Writing/Social Studies:

We will begin reading and writing about life in colonial times. Students will research about colonial clothing, food, schooling, homes, and games. They will write about how living in colonial times was different than the way we live today.

Science:

We are studying ecosystems. Students will be asking and answering questions: What is an ecosystem? How do plants get energy? How do other living things get energy? What are food chains and food webs?
