The meeting will take place in the REC Conference Center. The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe is located in the town of Szentendre, 20 km north of the Hungarian capital Budapest.

The Logistic Arrangements
The REC is taking care of the logistics. These include transfers, accommodation and catering.
Registration for the Meeting
Please complete the enclosed registration form and return it at your earliest convenience, but not later then October 31. If your travel itinerary is not finalized by that time, please inform us separately at a later date.
Kindly note that in cases where assistance of the REC is requested for visa arrangements, we ask to return the registration form by October 24, 2003!
Travel and Transfers to the REC
Delegates making their own travel arrangements are kindly requested to inform the REC about their travel itinerary on the enclosed registration form. The REC in turn will arrange the transfers by Airport Minibus, Railbus shuttle services, or taxi cabs as appropriate. The shuttle services provide direct transportation to Szentendre. The REC will also arrange the transfers back to the airport or rail stations, the schedule will be made available during the meeting.
Please note that there is nothing to pay for transports/transfers arranged by REC:
Transfer by Airport Minibus (LRI)
The LRI counters are located in the baggage reclaim / arrivals halls. Delegates are requested to refer to the REC, the LRI personnel are informed about the transfers, and the destination.
Transfer by Railbus
The Railbus terminals are located in all rail Stations. Please look for the signs. Similarly to LRI, transfers will have been ordered by the REC.
In case transfers are arranged individually by taxi cabs, it is recommended to inform the driver that a bill will be required, and to check that the meter is switched on. The rates can range from HUF 5,000 to HUF 13,000 from rail stations or the airport. It can be useful to inquire in advance approximately how much the rate will be. Recommended taxi cabs are: Fotaxi (yellow cab, red-and-white chequered band), Taxi 2000, Taxi 6x6, and Buda Taxi. Please do not travel with taxi cabs that do not have the company name displayed!
It is useful to note that the REC cannot reimburse taxi expenses.
Direction from Budapest by Public Transportation
From the Metro station called “Battyhány tér” the suburban electric train “HÉV” leaves for Szentendre. The trip is from one end station to the other. From the HÉV station at Szentendre it is best to take a taxi to the REC. The REC is a 30 min. walk from the HÉV station, through the middle of the old town.
Direction from Budapest by Car
Szentendre is a 15-minute drive from Budapest on highway No. 11. Once in Szentendre, the road named Duna Korzo leads straight to the REC. A sign on the right side of the road indicates the REC.
Accommodation
The REC has made block bookings in Szentendre, and will confirm hotel reservations in order of room availability.
Checking out time is at 10:00 a.m. daily.
Neither the JRC nor the REC will pay any cancellation fee or penalty fee.
