Aim of the meeting:
The new Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548 and 1999/45/EC and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, aligns existing EU legislation to the United Nations Globally Harmonised System (GHS).
The aim of the workshop is to inform authorities and industry and to raise awareness of forthcoming changes in classification and labeling of chemicals, focusing on the practical examples. The key elements of the new system will be explained and compared with the existing classification and labeling rules.
