Total pay is made up of Direct (salary) and indirect pay (additional benefits).

Direct Pay Dorothy House Contribution

Base earnings (Guide) £3,966 per annum min

Pay is reviewed annually alongside the opportunity

for incremental salary progression.

Pension

The minimum employee contribution £277 per annum min

is 3% and DH contributes 7% relative

to salary.

Life assurance

At the most difficult time for your family a death in service scheme provides a payment of 2 ½ annual salary to your family £9,915 min. For employees in the NHS pension scheme alternative arrangements apply.

Work-life balance – holidays, carers leave.

We offer a generous holiday allowance for all roles, which increases with length of service up to 33 days per annum plus public holidays. We also provide an occupational sickness pay allowance ( rising to 6 months full pay / 6 months half pay) when health prevents you getting into work.

Dorothy House is a very supportive organisation recognising that people have a range of personal family care and support needs and we work with staff to achieve a healthy work life balance. Three days additional paid leave is available when needed.

Welfare needs

We provide a range of wellbeing initiatives to support employee welfare around fitness and lifestyle. Specifically we have access to an Occupational health service to ensure staff are fully supported at work together with a free and confidential counselling support service.

Through our Simply Health scheme you can also join our health cash plan at competitive rates, which allows you to claim cash towards dental check-ups and treatment, new glasses or contact lenses, therapy treatments for example.

For those who regularly use computers at work we reimburse cost of eye tests and make a contribution towards spectacles when needed for work.

Dorothy House also supports the Child Care vouchers scheme to support the costs associated with child care.

Travel and parking

When required to use your car for travel on Dorothy House business you will receive 44p per mile. Essential and regular car users also receive a monthly lump sum payment.

The main offices also provide free parking.

Dorothy House has also partnered with the Cycle to Work scheme and through a “salary sacrifice” scheme great discounts are achievable in having a bicycle through the scheme.

We place your learning and development high on the agenda. As well as a comprehensive induction we also offer a range of development and training to meet your needs.

In addition we conduct regular 1:1s and annual appraisal and have a talent development program for people wanting to progress in leadership and management.
