Work Placement with the Enterprise Europe Network London

The Enterprise Europe Network desk at London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is part of a business support network set up and supported by the European Commission with over 600 offices around the EU and beyond. The Network and its UK based consortium, provide practical, hands-on support and information to London businesses seeking funding, hoping to expand their business into Europe and beyond, or wishing to develop technology partnerships.

The Enterprise Europe Network desk at LCCI offers an enquiry and research service for European and trade related queries, a tender alert and business cooperation service, events, newsletters, and is part of LCCI’s International Business Team.

The work placement:

  • Is for 6 months
  • Is not remunerated, although reasonable travel expenses to commute within London are covered.
  • The working hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday

General duties:

  • Handling low level telephone and email enquiries from SMEs on a variety of European issues
  • Assisting with the operation of EU-maintained partnership opportunity database
  • Writing short articles for newsletters
  • Company research (via Internet)
  • Assisting with events and company mission’s registrations
  • Updating social media channels
  • On-site event support at EEN events
  • Other administrative duties as directed by the Head of International Business.

You need to:

  • Be a student undertaking this internship as part of your UK-based higher or further education course OR
  • Be a student or graduate who will complete this internship under one of the European life-long learning programmes (Erasmus or Leonardo)
  • Have an interest in and knowledge of EU issues, or
  • Have followed a European studies or related university degree (undergraduate degree/ BA or the equivalent)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Have excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Enjoy dealing with the public
  • Be a good team player
  • Pay attention to detail

Training is provided throughout the programme and students are actively encouraged to contribute to the day to day operations of the Enterprise Europe Network team.
