Wooster Soccer Association Meeting

Pete Phillipon, president called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm. Timeline for Traveling teams is as follows: All players must be registered by March 21st for boys and March 14th for the girls. All coaches need to turn in all paperwork and payments to Heather and then she will turn in everything into the city.

Teams - U-14 Boys – Sammy Stine (Lytle) will coach this team.

U-14 Girls – At the parents meeting the parents voted to continue with the traveling team but will also enter the team in the regional league. The team has a full roster and Les W. will help coach the team.

Spring Timelines - Fred Meindl is interested in training again. All the details are being worked out. Healthpoint will be training with WSA teams again in the spring, teams will need to let Mike Kridel know if they are interested. Various Trainers available, teams will need to let Kim Shaw know what trainers they need.

The MIST Tournament has changed to the second weekend in June. The dates are June 12 – 14.

D Licensing Course will be held in Wooster the weekends of March 13 – 15 & April 3 – 5. WSA will be sending Scott Wiggam and Laura Rickett.

Referees – No news from George.

Parks and Rec - Field set up will be on March 28th starting at 8:30 am. There needs to be one representative from every team. Tom Turner has contacted Parks and Rec and wants to know if ODP would be able to use the fields on Sundays, it will not affect our teams.

Pictures – We are still waiting to hear back from the Chief of Police and the City Law Director. A decision will be made at next meeting on reimbursement if we do not have an answer.

3 V 3 High School Tournament – Will be held on Sunday May 17th, this tournament will not be open to Clubs Teams just High School Teams.

Mike - Mike handed out patches to coaches to give to their players for incentives, he also reminded everyone to let all their parents know that Wooster Edge apparel is being sold at Pierces.

Kim – There will be a Graham Ford Training on Wednesday, February 18 at the College of Wooster, PEC – upstairs gymnasium. 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Please let Kim know if you are attending.

Treasurers Report – There has not been much activity since the previous meeting, the only income was .09 in interest, expenses included facility & sign rentals for tryouts, Spring 2008 Travel Fees balance from NOGSL and 8 pairs of nets. Income less expense 1,950.91.

Scott Wiggam was nominated for Director of Marketing and Fundraising.
