WOMEN’S COLLEGE HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT AND CEO

TORONTO (August 29th, 2006) —The Board of Directors of the Women’s College Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Cole, CFRE, as the Foundation’s new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Ms. Cole currently serves as the Executive Director of Advancement in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto where she directs development, alumni relations and communications for the faculty. She has more than 20 years of fundraising experience, having served in senior development positions in several major health care and educational institutions. As well, Ms. Cole holds a BA from the University of Western Ontario and a Diploma in Public Relations from DurhamCollege.

Ms. Cole will begin in her new role on October 10, 2006.

As President and CEO, Ms. Cole will provide leadership for all fundraising activities and be responsible for developing and maintaining positive and constructive relationships with external stakeholders, including donors, corporate and business leaders, government officials and members of the diverse communities served by the Women’s CollegeHospital. She will also be a member of the hospital’s executive team, ensuring the critical linkage between the foundation and hospital.

New plans for the hospital include significant capital redevelopment of the Grenville Street site and transformational support for the Women’s College Research Institute as it assumes its new role as a national leader in women’s health research. As a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University ofToronto, Women’s College Hospital will be a hub of teaching and training in academic ambulatory care and women’s health.
