TRANSITIONAL LAW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

The USF Women Lawyers Committee invites incoming male or femalelaw students to apply for its Transitional Law Student Scholarship. One student will receive a non-renewable partial tuition scholarship in the amount of $10,000.00

I consent to the review by the USF Women Lawyers Committee of my permanent school record, including my academic transcript, LSAT scores and financial aid record, for purposes of this scholarship application. By applying for this Scholarship, the applicant agrees to release his/her official college transcript(s) to the Committee.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Students are eligible to apply for the partial tuition scholarship if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Must be entering their first year of law school in August 2016;
  2. Must demonstrate financial need by the Law School’s financial aid process (have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA) on file in the law school’s financial aid office);
  3. Must have been out of school for at least a five-year period before entering USF School of Law in August 2016. The five-year gap can between (a) high school and college, or (b) between college or graduate school and law school;
  4. Must have demonstrated academic excellence; and,
  5. Must have current community involvement and concrete plans for utilizing a law degree in the community.

The recipient will be asked to attend the Scholarship Award ceremony, and may be asked to participate in other USF Women Lawyers Committee events.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS by July 21st, 2016 at noon, *SUBMIT DOCUMENTS IN THEFOLLOWING ORDER AS A SINGLE FILE PDF*:

  1. File this signed application form;
  2. Submit a resume;
  3. Include your college transcript
  4. Submit an essay(double-spaced/no more than two pages) that specifies: a) past involvement with community serviceand b) career plans upon completion of law degree.
