The Operator Award aims to encourage women working in these roles, where women are significantly underrepresented, and to recognise their achievements.

Women entering this category can also enter the overall award.

The QRC is seeking applications from women who:

– work as an operator in the resources sector in Queensland

– have made a significant contribution to their organisation/company and/or the resources sector

– have made a direct or indirect contribution to the advancement of women in resources through being a role model/mentor or through leadership

– have made a difference to society through the resources sector, such as contributed to social/community development

– have broken new ground for women in the resources sector.

– applications are invited from women working in all areas of the Queensland minerals and energy sector

– applicants do not have to work for a company that is a member of the QRC

– QRC will arrange for the winner to attend the RAW presentation in Brisbane at QRC’s International Women’s Day breakfast at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition CentreMerivale Street South Brisbaneon Friday7 March 2014.

– applications will not be accepted unless accompanied by a signed entry form. Signed forms may be scanned and e-mailed or contain an electronic signature

– applicants should be aware that section winners will play an ambassadorial role for the following 12 months and may be requested to speak at or attend events.

– applications can be made on behalf of another person, so long as the candidate has knowledge of the application

– preferred format for entries is this form, and/or a Word document

– photographs should be sent separately as a high resolution JPEG file (300dpi or greater) Close-up photos of you at work are preferred. By entering, candidates agree for these photos to be used in promotional materials for the awards and other QRC promotional materials.
