JOB TITLE: Local Advice Wolverhampton (LAW)

Project Coordinator

RESPONSIBLE TO: Organisational Development Manager (ODM)

SALARY: Local range 32-33: £27,052-£27,849

Two Years Fixed Term Fixed term: Start Date: 1.9.13 End Date: 31.8.15 (Extension possible subject to funding)

HOURS OF WORK: 18.5 or 37 Hours per week (or job share considered) possibly including some out of hours work

LOCATION: Peripatetic, but primarily based at 26 Snow Hill offices

HOLIDAY: 20 days per annum plus statutory bank holidays, to be taken by arrangement with line manager

PURPOSE OF JOB: To lead the coordination, development and delivery of a two year Big Lottery funded Local Advice Wolverhampton Project (LAW) between Wolverhampton CAB and partner agencies

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  To engage, manage, and develop a partnership of advice and support agencies to meet LAW project outcomes (attached).

2.  To coordinate and manage a team of staff and volunteers to meet LAW project outcomes.

3.  To work with partners to develop and improve services and outcomes for clients needs using multiple channels of advice (e.g. telephone, email advice, Skype, internet based).

4.  To work with CAB and partner agencies and the local authority to encourage and support the development of more “modern” enterprising business models for partner agencies.

5.  To work with partner agencies to develop early intervention and education services to facilitate the early resolution of peoples problems.

6.  To coordinate the consistent monitoring and reporting of client and service data across the partnership (using Wolverhampton in Profile).

7.  To coordinate improvements in efficiency and sustainability across the partnership based on available models of analysis.

8.  To coordinate the development of systems to effectively monitor and measure the client and service outcomes across the partnership.

9.  To chair interagency project work groups.

10.  To promote the project advice services in the community: to liaise with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations and to work with individuals and groups as appropriate.

11.  To identify own training needs and undertake appropriate specialist training as agreed with Line Manager.

12.  To participate in meetings and other communication activities run by the company from time to time.

13.  As a member of Wolverhampton Citizens Advice Bureaux to be responsible for maintenance of the Equal Opportunities Policies.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

1.  A minimum of three years experience of advice provision preferably at a specialist level in debt, housing, employment or benefits.

2.  Be able to demonstrate experience of project development and coordination, preferably in an advice setting or in the voluntary sector.

3.  Excellent ability to communicate effectively (verbally, in writing and electronically).

4.  Experience of supervising staff or volunteers preferably in an advice or voluntary sector setting.

5.  A strong commitment to the principles of free advice provision recognising the importance of independence, impartiality and confidentiality.

6.  An appreciation of the use of technology in the provision of advice services and a firm grasp of confidentiality and data assurance issues

7.  A commitment to positive customer services and measurable customer outcomes

8.  A commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity

9.  Ability to communicate simply and effectively, both in writing and verbally with people at all levels

10.  Understanding and support for the Aims, Principles and Policies of the Citizens Advice Bureaux service, and the importance of Social Policy.

11.  Personal commitment to all aspects of equal opportunities policies and experience of their implementation.

12.  Ability to work as part of a team with paid and unpaid colleagues

Desirable requirements

1.  Ability to speak Community languages (in addition to English) or use British Sign Language.

2.  Ability to travel locally and regionally (Own transport preferred)
