WOCC Access/Results Prayer Ministry
Minutes - Saturday, April4, 2009
Pastor Gee opened up with prayer at 9:20 am. He then led us to two passages of scripture.
Isaiah 11:1-3
1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: (KJV)
Isaiah 40:28-31
28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)
Something begins to happen in the presence of the Lord (when we are in prayer). The Lord gives:
- Power to the faint
- Strength
- Might
- His attributes
- Intuition
- Knowledge without learning
- His mind
A certain amount of strength is needed to lift eyeglasses. But you need more strength to lift a table. Each thing requires a certain amount of might and force to lift it. Some of the apostles said they couldn't cast out demons. But they couldn't do it because their levels were low. They neededto fast and pray, and they did not believe as they should. There are certain levels that get replenished in prayer. You can see certain things; they become clearer.
God gives power to the faint and might to those that don't have it. Luke 18:1“…men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”
The way we learn is from the five senses, but this type of learning comes because of the fall. We were meant to get in the presence of God and just download. God told Adam to “name” the animals - not “learn” the animals.
Prayer is the antidote for fainting. After praying, you’re supposed to leave God’s presence as a stronger person - not weaker. There are levels of power, and your level of strength rises as you spend time with God. Some things Jesus prayed all night for because some take longer in the presence of the Lord. You can put a couple of gallons of gasoline in your car a lot quicker than you can fill it up. You need higher levels.
If you never push through to the miracle, you will always standing on the outside. You must be able to tell people that this works. If you don't want to press through, God will wait for your kids to do it. A whole generation had to die out before the people could go into the Promised Land. Only Joshua and Caleb pressed through and went over.
Joshua told the sun and the moon to stand still. His might had increased because he had been in the presence of the Lord. Even ifyou don't see victory right away, your might is increasing.
There are people that are even stronger than the younger folks. It’s those that wait on the Lord! They are stronger - they are increasing in strength.
Closing prayer by Brother Paul McLaughlin at 9:55 am.
