Withdrawal of selected OCR Business Administration, Customer Service and Management and Leadership qualifications

Following a review of our qualification offer in the light of changes to market demand, OCR has made the difficult decision to withdraw selected Business Administration, Customer Service and Management and Leadership stand-alone qualifications as of 31st August 2017.

OCR will of course continue to support and assess the qualifications up to the final certification dates which will be as follows:

1.  What is the last date I can enter learners?

The final date to enter learners for these qualifications is 31/08/2017. The final date to enter For Principles of Business and Administration units assessed by an e-test, please see Question 8.

2.  What is the last date I can certificate learners?

The final certification dates for these qualifications are listed in the table above. Please be aware that the last certification date is the final date OCR will produce certificates. Centres are therefore advised to plan for completion of all learner assessment and submit claims at least two months prior to the last certification date. Please see question 10 for further information.

3.  Why is OCR withdrawing these qualifications?

Following a review of our qualification offer in the light of changes to market demand, OCR has made the difficult decision to withdraw these selected Business Administration, Customer Service and Management and Leadership stand-alone qualifications

4.  Does this mean OCR is withdrawing all qualifications in this vocational area / sector?

OCR will not offer a replacement for the qualifications being withdrawn; however alternative qualifications within this sector are available. The following qualifications are being extended:

5.  Are all Awarding Organisations withdrawing these qualifications or is it just OCR?

6.  What if a learner completes their portfolio, but we haven’t made a qualification entry for that learner and it is after the final qualification entry date?

Learners must be entered via OCR Interchange before the last entry date. If the last entry date has passed please contact us.

7.  What will happen if a learner has a unit withdrawn and wants to claim the unit at a later date?

As long as they were entered before the last entry date and the last certification date has not passed you can continue to claim units. Claims must be made before the end certification date and, for externally verified qualifications, before your final external quality assurance visit.

8.  How does the last Entry date and certification date apply to e-tests on SecureAssess for the Principles of Business and Administration?

Learners should be created in SecureAssess and associated with the qualification by 31/08/2017. Once you have associated a learner to a Principles of Business and Administration at a particular level, you can continue to schedule tests for the learner for all units within the qualification (and resits) until the last certification date of 31/08/2019.

Adding a learner does not attract a fee, you are only charged for the tests taken. Ensure that all learners are created in SecureAssess and associated with a Principles of Business and Administration qualification by the last entry date of 31/08/2017. It will not be possible to associate any new learners with a qualification after this date.

9.  I have Direct Claims Status (DCS) – how does this affect the last certification / assessment dates?

Direct Claims Status (DCS) is removed three months prior to last certification date or at the final EQA visit (whichever is earlier) as all learner portfolios will still be subject to the full quality assurance process.

10.  What do we need to consider as the last certification date approaches?

The last certification date is the last date we will produce certificates and we suggest you plan to complete all candidate assessment at least two months before this. Please ensure your candidates have completed all portfolios of work in order to meet the assessment criteria.

Externally Verified qualifications

To make sure you’re prepared you may like to consider these key points:

·  Remember to make your certification claims at least 3 weeks before the last certification date. As part of the quality assurance process, ensure all your claims are part of a sample seen by our external quality assurer (EQA).

·  Ensure all your EQA visits take place at least two weeks before the last certification date to allow certificates to be processed.

Principles of Business and Administration (e-test)

·  We suggest you plan to complete all candidate assessment on or before the 31/08/2019 as it will not be possible to schedule tests after this date,
