IMPROV QUILTING WORKSHOPS WITH MARGE TUCKER
Friday, February 9th and/or Saturday, February 10th
Friday, March 16th and/or Saturday, March 17th (Technique TBD)
February’s project will be color, we will be working on making a composition with a
color or analogous colors. Marge was inspired by the Mark Rothko exhibit at the MFA.
Mr. Rothko is best known for abstract works that feature a limited number of colors.
Sometimes he only uses one, or at least that’s what it looks like from a distance.
Up close though, he uses many shades/tints/hues of a color and you will see what he
calls an "experienced canvas".You can Google "Mark Rothko paintings"
for an overview.Below is one of his paintings.

Below is a small quilt inspired by this method that Marge made just using warm colors from gathered scraps, she started sewing pieces together and made design decisions as she went. She found it interesting, challenging and instructive to work with a limited range of colors.Pick a color or two from your scraps (suggestion is solid scraps), we'll start putting a small quilt together!Marge will bring her solid scrap buckets.

WORKSHOP DETAILS:
Friday, February 9th from 10:00AM-3:00PM (Cost $40)
Saturday, February 10th from 10:30AM-3:30PM (Cost $40)
