How do I get to the Avondale Cabin? Take Route 1 South to the Avondale exit. Go South on Route 41 into Avondale. Take a right at the first light (there is a Sunoco station on the far left corner of the intersection). Go less than 100 yards to Pomeroy Street. If you cross RR tracks, you just missed it. Take a right on Pomeroy and continue all the way back up into the woods. This narrow street will become a gravel single lane road. After a distance of over a quarter mile, you will cross a small bridge and soon after, cross the RR tracks. Right in front of you will be the cabin.

What is the ‘Avondale Cabin?’ This cabin is owned and maintained by Troop 191. It was built over 50 years ago. It features several ‘wings,’ including a large kitchen, a dining room, a recreation room, and a large living room area with a big fireplace. Above this area is a ‘bunkhouse’ with approximately 40 bunks. Filled with scouting memorabilia, it is a terrific place to spend a winter weekend doing scouting activities.
