Windy Weather Warning

High winds can cause a mess when we collect your recycling and trash. We recommend that you use plastic shopping bags or other bags to contain recycling and trash that might otherwise blow away. Because recyclables are generally lighter than trash, it’s a good idea to set out the blue recycle cart only when it is nearly full. These simple steps can make a big difference in helping to keep our City clean.

We will collect up to two Bulky Items (furniture, appliances, tires, electronic waste, etc.) per year for FREE. Call our office to make arrangements for this service. (Charges apply for more than two items per year.)

Combat Recycling Theft

One way you can reduce your chances of being a target of scavenging is to place your recycling cart out on the morning of your scheduled collection day instead of the night before. This simple act will reduce the opportunity for scavengers.

Remember to destroy any documentsthat contain sensitive personal information.

Special Hauls

We offer special haul services for a fee for material you cannot get to the curb. Excess waste or bulky items must be outside the house or garage.

Ink Cartridge Recycling

You may drop off used printer ink cartridges at our facility for recycling.

CartPlacement

Customers that bring their Blue Carts to the street are reminded to follow these simple guidelines:

  • Place Carts at the street with the hinges facing away from the street.
  • Keep Carts at least four feet from other objects, such as trash cans, mail boxes, utility poles, trees & shrubs, or parked cars.

Yellow tags will be left on Carts as a reminder.

Only When Full?

We ask that curbside customers place the Blue Recycling Cart out for collection only when it is full. This will maximize efficiency and keep costs down for everyone.

Memorial Day Schedule

Collections will be delayed one day following Memorial Day, Monday, May 31st.

Online Payments

Visit our website to pay your bill online.

Those already paying online are reminded to periodically verify account numbers with their financial institution to avoid payment discrepancies. Also, make sure your credit card has not expired.

Sharps & Prescription Drugs

The term “Sharps” refers to needles and lancets, razor blades, and any other devices capable of cutting or piercing the skin.

Disposal of sharps can be dangerous if not done correctly. Since September, 2008, California law prohibits the disposal of sharps in trash, recycling or green waste containers (Calif. Health & Safety Code Section 118286).

Pharmacies provide containers for postage-free mailing to biohazard disposal sites.

Adhering to the law will help minimize the risk of accidental needle sticks in our community.

Caution is also needed when disposing of outdated or unwanted Prescription Drugs.

Do not flush prescription drugs which can contaminate our water system. Instead, enclose prescription drugs in a plastic bag, (wrapping them in paper if necessary to hide their presence) and dispose in your trash. Today’s landfills are lined to prevent such materials from leaching into the ground water.
