WinCAPS Version 2010.01 DVD Installation Guide
è Insert DVD
è If the DVD does not automatically run, find (D:) and select set up
è You can now either use WinCAPS directly from the DVD or install WinCAPS from DVD to hard drive
è If you want to run WinCAPS from the dvd and see the message in the picture below, you will need to go online to install .NET framework (min. version 2.0). In Windows Vista and Windows 7, the .NET framework is included be default, but this is not the case for Windows XP.
If you decide to ‘Install WinCAPS on the hard disk’ please follow the instructions below
è If you choose to install WinCAPS on your hard disk, first of all select your language.
è To proceed you will now need to ‘accept the license agreement’.
è You will now have the option for ‘installation of all WinCAPS components’ or ‘User defined installation’. Please note that full installation will require approximately 4.1 GB of hard drive space.
è For UK customers if hard drive space is an issue, we would recommend you to opt for ‘User defined installation’.
è On the next screen you are able to customise your installation in the following ways:
è Manuals: available in many languages, but for most people ‘English’ is the only type that is relevant
è Service
è Dimensional Drawings
è Product Pictures
è Wiring Diagrams
è If all of the above options are selected, (with English manuals only), the total hard drive space required is now only 1.4 GB (approximately). This can be reduced further by deselecting any of the above options.
è Click next then select yes to begin with the installation
è Once installation has completed you can select from the options on the screen shot below. If you want to get the latest WinCAPS upgrades (which basically fix any bugs in the system) you will need to tick the box ‘Enable automatic update. WinCAPS will check and download updates automatically’.
Please Note: By ticking this box it will not provide upgrades with new product information, it will only allow for minor improvements to be made.
