A)Data Entry Screens

1)ARCS Data Entry Screen

  • A change was made to prevent a quoted question mark from being assigned to the NAICS (aux_naics) field.

B)Screens:

1)Main Screen

  • The overall screen performance has been improved when navigating between the individual Tabs.
  • MSA Macro Screens will be released in September 2003.

2)Multi Tab/Site Ownership Change Screen

  • A change was made to allow only active subunits on a transfer.

C)Quarterly Processing

1)Load Screen

  • CES (NAICS) Load – Load procedure was changed to load the new NAICS CES (M30) file structure.

2)Edit Screen

  • Edits – The SIC Macro Edit and Listing have been disabled.

D)Reports:

  • Quarterly NAICS Listings – The procedure was restructured to improve runtime performance and to correct the firm count which is used to determine confidentiality.

There are eight (8) geography’s (Statewide, LMA, WIA, MSA, County, Residence, Zone, and City). Each has four outputs. Two are formatted and two are Unformatted. For each, one suppresses Confidential Data and the other does not.

1)Batch Data Corrections

  • fix051503.r – Procedure to be run via “Create Process” screen to check for a quoted question mark in the NAICS (aux_naics) field. If found, it will be changed to a regular question mark.

Log in to database and select the ‘Administrative’ Button.

Select ‘OK’ Button

  • Note: This procedure only needs to be run for states that are loading CES data. If you do not load CES data, you need not run this job.

cesnaics.r – Procedure to be run via “Create Process” screen to populate the NACIS field in the CES table for year greater then 2000. This will eliminate the question marks in the reports. The procedure attempts to load a NAICS code in the following order:

1. Use the naics-xwalk table for a direct (one to one) relationship.

2. Use the first available quarterly code for the same UI/Run (Current quarter of less).

a. If invalid, a hex 9 is assigned.

3. If no quarterly is found, looks for Admin pred/succ and uses the first available quarterly code (Current quarter of less)

a. if invalid, a hex 9 is assigned.

b. if no quarterly found, record is sent to an output file (ces-naics.txt)

4. If no admin record is found using admin pred/succ, that record is sent to an output file (ces-naics.txt).

Log in to database and select the ‘Administrative’ Button.

Select Monitor Tab

Select ‘Create Process’ button.
