RULES AND INFO

There is a lot of information to follow. Please do read it carefully as it is all very important. Many of the following points have altered from what you may be used to.

Entries

-Matches to be held every month from October to March (inclusive) on the 2nd Wednesday in the month

-Entries for each match will close 2 weeks before the match (ie last Wednesday in the previous month). Entries MAY be taken after that day and even at the match (first come first served) if there are still spaces available. However entries at the match will be at a cost of £6 per dog in order to encourage entry before closing date.

-Refunds will not be given after the closing date – however fee’s may be transferred to another dog if necessary

-Entries will be limited to the first 50 dogs entered EXCEPT where dogs have been awarded a priority slip

-In the interest of giving everyone a fair chance to enter these matches, dogs missing out on entry will be awarded a priority slip for the next but one match (i.e. if you miss the October match your slip will guarantee you to a place in the December match).

-Entries received after a match has been declared full (on the entry box at matches) MAY be turned away without a priority slip, depending on the number of slips already given out.

-Once dogs have a registration number (given on entry of their first match) entry may be made to any match without an entry form. Simply send an SAE and Cheque with dog(s) number(s) and month(s) entered written on the back of the cheque

-Entries accepted by post, in person, or in the entries box at matches

-Cash entries will ONLY be accepted if handed to me personally, NOT put in the entries box at matches

Levels

-Dogs may only enter one level at a match

-Dogs MUST move up a level if they qualify to do so before the closing date of their first match. Please let me know as soon as possible otherwise your dog may end up running “not for competition”

-Once entered into a level a dog will remain there until they have won a trophy 3 times at which point they may keep the relevant trophy and are promoted to the next level provided that at least two wins were with a clear round.

-Dogs unable to compete at their proper jump height may enter the non-competitive “micro” class where jump heights will be 150mm. No places or points will be awarded but clear round rosettes will be.

-Dogs promoted will carry any points gained through with them to the next level

-Dogs at the highest current level, having won a trophy twice in that level can only enter for that class not for competition. However they can enter the other class (ie if they win the agility trophy they may still enter for the jumping classes). Once another, higher level is introduced they are automatically promoted and can compete in both classes again.

Competition

-Dogs of 16 months or older may enter “not for competition” and use a toy (no food please) in the ring.

-Dogs must be 18 months of age or older to compete

-KC standard marking will apply

-All levels will compete over the same course but with separate awards for each level

-Dogs of all heights of the same level will compete against each other

-Small dogs are those measuring 13.75” (350mm) or under at the withers and will jump a height of no more than 350mm.

-Medium dogs are those measuring over 13.75” (350mm) but under 17” (430mm) at the withers and will jump a height of no more than 450mm.

-Large dogs are those measuring 17” (430mm) or over at the withers and will jump a height of no more than 650mm.

-Handlers must ALL walk the course whilst jumps are at a height suitable for the first size of dogs to take. The first size of dog to run will change each month and for each class

Awards

-Owners of dogs winning trophies MUST return them by the following match unless informed otherwise. Failure to do so will result in a bill for the missing trophy.

-In March points for each dog will be tallied. The dog with the most points will receive an award at that match.

VERY IMPORTANT

-This venue is the training ground of Flying Dogs Agility Club. Please respect the site and keep it tidy as we do not wish to lose this venue

-There is a helpers scheme in place. This will be explained at the matches – but involves EVERYBODY helping on the ring a little so that no-one has to do too much.

-You MUST clean up after your dog. Failure to do so will result in IMMEDIATE escort off site.

-ABSOLUTELY no harsh handling will be tolerated ANYWHERE on site

-HAVE FUN!!!
