Congratulations to Mrs Scott (former Mrs Hall) who got married over the Easter break.

Amalgamation Meeting for Parents

Thank you to those parents who came along to the amalgamation meetings yesterday. The consultation is still open online for those of you who wish to comment on the proposal. To date there have been only 5 responses.

Spring Picnic Lunch – Friday 28th April 2017

Unfortunately if we have not received your order you will have to provide your child with their own packed lunch on that day.

Charity of the Year

The children will be deciding the new charity of the year on Monday. I will let you know the outcome next week.

Swimming Fees for the Summer Term

Year 5 & 6 £11.00 (5 sessions)

Year 3 & 4 £15.40 (7 sessions)

Payments can be made online.

Year 5

Year 5 are making bridges in design and technology and are in need of thick cardboard (for example boxes containing cat food pouches or washing powder). If you have any at home, please could you bring to a Year 5 classroom by Tuesday 25th April. Many thanks.

Nut products

Please can I remind parents to check snacks/cereal bars, that the children bring into school, to make sure they do not contain any nut products. Thank you.

Letters/Events (Please see the school website for further information)

Football Tournament Tuesday 25th April at Bartlett Park, Wickford Town YFC.

Year 4 Water Treatment Centre – 4W: Tuesday 2nd May, 4F: Wednesday 3rd May, 4E: Thursday 4th May. We still need parent helpers so if you’re able to help on this trip please contact the office, many thanks.

Clubs

Please see ‘Other letters’ page – Summer Term Clubs 2017 for new term fees and dates. The new club dates and fees are due by your child’s first session. Please pay promptly to the relevant club. All children continue their clubs – you do not have to re-apply, but if for any reason your child will no longer be attending you must inform the office, thank you.

Parent Lunches

Please arrive at reception by 12.10pm. Both parents and children are to order school dinners please.

Please may I remind you that parents are to not wander around the school and use the visitor toilet only. If you are unsure please ask at the office.

5E – Thursday 27th April – We can no longer take any more orders.

6W – Thursday 4th May - We can no longer take any more orders.

6F – Thursday 18th May – Parent orders and payments must be returned by Thursday 4th May.

Assemblies

Assemblies start at 9.00 a.m. and last around half an hour, including time for a cup of tea or coffee.

Achievements

Congratulations to the following children:

Macie Wright (6W) passed her Grade 3 Piano Exam on 31st March.

Owen Page (5F) achieved a Merit in his Grade 4 Music Theory exam

Chloe Hammond (3W) earned her 100 metre swimming badge.

Luke Reynolds (3E) passed his Stage 6 swimming, 50 metre and 100 metre and is now in Stage 7 (Purple hats).

Joshua Sampford (3W) achieved Player of the Week for his group at Billericay FC School Holiday Course.

Hannah Page (5W) passed her Grade 5 LCM Musical Theatre with Distinction.

Olivia Dolby (3F) has passed the ASA’s Stage 5 Award in swimming and is now able to swim 25 metres on both front and back confidently.
