Whyjoin our Volunteers Network at DRFC?

Volunteers do so for a variety of reasons. Often it is because they have enjoy(ed) the game of rugby as a player and want to give ‘something back’. Perhaps their children play (or did) and they are at the Clubhouse anyway. They may want to develop social networks or improve upon a skill. Sometimes it is just because they want to do something to connect with their local Community. However, what makes someone take that extra step to volunteer at DRFC is that it is a warm and friendly club with bags of personality!!

Whatever your motive for offering help, should you decide to become a volunteer, it leads to a challenging but fun time in which you will make new friends and make our Club better.

I am looking to grow a DRFC Volunteers Network where we can put on events, get the jobs done to improve our environment, support busy bar staff during peak times and enable us to grow and develop (sensibly). We can achieve this as one large team better than as individuals.

We need trades, general labourers, professional expertise, occasional support, budding coaches and anyone just wanting to get ‘stuck in’ to something. Take a look at the following two tables to see what help we need.

QUESTION:

Are you free to attend the Volunteers Taskforce Weekend of February 1 and 2?

YES/NO

If you can’t, you can still be a volunteer!!!

NEXT STEPS:

  • Take a look at the following information to see if there is anything you would like to do or get involved in.
  • Alternatively you may be content to have a go at anything.

Whichever it is, please can you complete the attached form and send it to me ASAP and I will be in touch about how best to organise ourselves.

Many thanks

Terri Tibbetts
