Summary:

We must never take Him for granted. We must always hunger and thirst for God. The degree of the Touch of God in your life is in direct proportion to your hunger and thirst for God; Little hunger, little touch; Big hunger, Big touch.

God is not using the Great Men and Women of God in our day because they are special. He is using them for this reason, they have pressed in and Touched Him and He has in turn Touched them.

God the Holy Ghost wants each one of us to be filled to overflowing with His Presence and with His Power. He wants us saturated and filled with His Presence.

A.  Who is the Holy Ghost?

1.  The Holy Ghost is not an emotion or other outward manifestation such as “falling under the power of God.” Falling under the Power of God is evidence that the Holy Ghost is present and moving in the service. The Holy Ghost is not speaking in tongues and speaking in tongues is not the Holy Ghost. Speaking in tongues is evidence of the Holy Ghost’s indwelling presence in your life.

2.  We must not look at or reduce the Holy Ghost down to just an experience. We must recognize that He is a Person. He is God and that He is all Powerful and living on the inside of you. If we want to experience continued success in every area of life, we must develop a greater communion and fellowship with the Holy Ghost. We develop our communion and fellowship with Him by spending time with Him in His Awesome Presence and then waiting in His Presence after prayer, giving Him an opportunity to talk to us.

a.  The Holy Ghost is a Person

b.  The Holy Ghost has a Personality

c.  The Holy Ghost has a Purpose

d.  The Holy Ghost has Power

3.  We have pretty much pursued the Holy Ghost only for His anointing and His Gifts but not for Him.

a.  High School, Car, Benefits no relationship.

B.  In the kingdom of God, 1+1+1 = 1 (1 John 5:6-7).

1.  He is the Third Person in The Holy Trinity. You have God the Father, God the Son (Who is Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit: one God, but three different functions.

a.  Example: I’m a Husband, a Father, and the Pastor of a church; when I’m ministering from the pulpit, I’m functioning as a Pastor, not as Mary’s husband or as LaWanda’s Father.

b.  The Holy Ghost is God. (Acts 5:1-4)

2.  God is love (1John 4:8).

a.  When you became born again, the Holy Spirit poured God’s love into your heart (Romans 5:5, AMP).

b.  Jesus asked the Father to give us His love (John 17:23).

3.  God wants you to be strengthened with His might (Ephesians 3:16-17).

a.  Might is “an ability or anointing to do anything.”

b.  Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing, dwells in your heart by faith.

4.  Love is the root to your faith, anointing and power. (Galatians 5:6, KJV, AMP)

a.  You must have character before you can have power consistently operating in your life.

b.  Character is “doing what’s right because it’s right, and then doing it right.”

c.  Walking in love is right.

5.  God wants us to live a Spirit Filled Life.

a.  A Spirit Filled Life is a day-to-day decision on your part to yield to the control of the Holy Ghost.

1.  Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost. (Luke 4:1, 4:14 KJV, AMP)

2.  In Jesus dwelled the fullness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:9 AMP)

3.  We are full of the Godhead as well. (Colossians 2:10 AMP)

b.  Have you ever said “Lord, I want more of You! When you got Born Again, to Holy Ghost came to live on the inside of you (He resides in your spirit). What the Holy Ghost is saying is “I want more of you.” We must decrease so that He can increase. (John 3:30)

C.  The personality of the Holy Ghost is revealed in His name.

1.  Jesus called the Holy Spirit “the Comforter.” (John 14:16 – 18, 26, KJV)

a.  He has come to live in you and to be with you forever.

b.  The Comforter will show us things to come.

2.  The sevenfold meaning of Comforter (John 14:16 AMP).

a.  The Holy Ghost is our Counselor – He will counsel with us. He will lead and guide us into all truth. (John 16:13)

b.  The Holy Ghost is our Helper.

c.  The Holy Ghost is our Advocate.

1)  Advocate means – Lawyer or one who pleads your cause.

2)  As our Advocate the Holy Ghost will plead our case. (Psalm 119:154)

d.  The Holy Ghost is our Intercessor.

1)  Romans 8:26 says “Likewise the Spirit”

e.  The Holy Ghost is our Strengther.

1)  “Greater is He that is in you, then he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

f.  The Holy Ghost is our Standby.

3.  Jesus had to leave so the Comforter could come.

a.  Jesus told the disciples it would be expedient for Him to go away (John 16:5-7, KJV, AMP).

b.  Expedient means “profitable; good; to their advantage.”

c.  Jesus said that He was sending the Comforter or the Holy Ghost to be in close fellowship with us

d.  The Holy Ghost is the only part of the God Head that is presently here on earth. (Hebrews 10:12-13)

D.  God the Holy Ghost is a real Person, with Whom you must develop a real relationship.

1.  He’s your invisible Partner, giving you inside information.

a.  When we look at an electric light, you must realize that the source of that light is hidden from view. Somewhere there is a generator producing power. We don’t always understand this but nevertheless we enjoy the benefits. The Holy Ghost is our “Generator”. He is the Power of the Highest but He is hidden from view.

2.  He can tell you about your future and straighten out your past; the key to these benefits is your realizing that He is a real Person.

a.  Just because He is invisible, doesn’t mean He’s not real.

b.  Example: You can’t see the wind, but you can feel and see its effects.

c.  You should be going to Him for the plan for your life instead of coming up with a plan yourself and wanting Him to bless it.

3.  You must develop such an awareness of His Presence that you can’t wake up in the morning without saying “Good morning, Holy Ghost,” or go for too long without talking with Him intimately.

a.  You must practice the Presence of the Holy Ghost.

b.  We must become God conscious.

E.  The Holy Ghost’s job is to reveal the Sonship of God’s people.

1.  Sonship (is a position and not a gender) with God is defined as “a man or woman who, by the power of God, brings deliverance and liberty to mankind.”

2.  He is the Spirit of Truth and has been sent to reveal the mind of God to those who are born again (John 16:12-13, AMP).

a.  If you are not born again, all He will point out to you is that you need to be.

3.  He has come to reveal the wisdom, knowledge, abilities, enablements and mysteries of God to you to show you your significance, your value and the power that has been invested in you.

4.  He wants to reveal your God-nature to you and cause you to live in a higher level than you are living now.

5.  Believers should be doing greater works than what Jesus did while He was on the earth. (John 14:12, AMP)

6.  Religion and religious thinking considers it heresy to believe that you can act like God. (John 16:13)

F.  The Holy Ghost has four main attributes.

1.  The Holy Ghost is the oil of joy (Isaiah 61:3).

a.  You cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit and not have joy in your life, because He literally injects the believer with joy and gladness. (Psalm 45:7)

b.  This joy and gladness are supernatural and build your immunity to sickness and disease; however, you must learn to “let things go.” (Proverbs 17:22)

1)  Cast your cares on God.

c.  Joy comes from what you know from the Word of God.

1)  The more you comprehend God’s Word, the more the Holy Spirit can instruct, minister and reveal to you; He compares spiritual things with spiritual things.

2.  The love of God that was poured into your heart (Romans 5:5) determines your access to revelation (enlightenment, direction); your access is based on your love walk.

a.  If you are walking in selfishness, you hinder the Holy Spirit from speaking to you and you remain “stuck” in “average,” having no results from the Word.

b.  If you have something between you and someone else, then you need to set it straight. The Spirit of God is grieved when there is envy, bitterness, strife and unforgiveness. They prevent Him from giving you the answers you need for your life. (Mark 11:25)

1)  You must get your negative feelings and emotions under subjection to the Word.

c.  Love is the platform on which the laws and commandments function.

3.  When you are anointed with the Holy Ghost, you enter into a higher dimension of praise.

a.  When you thank and praise God, giving Him the glory, the Holy Ghost comes in and elevates your praise (John 16:14).

b.  High praise is always followed by supernatural intervention (Acts 16:25-26).

4.  When the Holy Spirit shows up, so does favor.

a.  You walk in the favor of God and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit (Proverbs 3:3-4).

b.  Favor means, “A kind, gracious and friendly act; to treat with high regard and approval; something granted out of good will rather than for payment or justice; A benefit; A gift bestowed and not necessarily earned or bought; Something given as a token of love or friendship; To be given advantage and preferential treatment and special privileges.”

1)  When you acknowledge God’s favor, it motivates Him to favor you even more.

c.  Favor from the Lord guarantees success. Therefore, believe that you receive success, comfort and ease from now on.

G.  There are 10 benefits that the favor of God produces in your life through the Holy Spirit.

1.  Supernatural increase and promotion. (Genesis 39:21); (Genesis 41:39-41, 46)

2.  Supernatural restoration of everything the enemy has stolen. (Exodus 3:21)

3.  Honor in the midst of your adversaries. (Exodus 11:3)

4.  Increased assets, especially in the area of real estate (Psalm 44:1-3, LB).

5.  Great victories in the midst of great impossibilities. (Psalm 44:1-3)

6.  Recognition when you’re least likely to receive it. (Esther 2:7)

7.  Prominence and preferential treatment. (1 Samuel 16:22)

8.  Petitions granted by ungodly civil authorities. (Esther 5:8)

9.  Policies, rules and regulations changed/reversed to your advantage. (Esther 5:8)

10. Battles won that you didn’t even have to fight. (Esther 8:5)
