2015 CANAL BOAT DOCK APPLICATION

Please complete, sign and return the form below, along with a $100 donation and $50 deposit and a copy of your current boat registration, as application for a boat dock space in the WLO canal for the current docking season. A drawing for docking space will be held at the lodge on Friday May 1, 2014 @ 6:00pm. By signing this application, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

1. Boat docking spaces in the canal are available only to WLO members in good standing, who have paid their dues in full including the current docking season and who own a boat at the time of the drawing.

2. Dock space may be limited and this application is not a guarantee that every applicant will receive a dock space each season. Applications may be accepted after April 30 on a space available basis.

3. Dock space is for use by the member and boat on the application only and is not transferable to any other paerson. The applicant must own the boat that is to be docked at the space. A copy of the current boat registration, indicating the member/applicant as owner of the boat on this application, must be attached.

4. Donations to WLO are non-refundable.

5. Docking season is from May 1 to November 30 each year. Boats and docks shall be removed from the canal and boat dock area by November 30 each season.

6. Installation of a temporary dock constructed of wood and/or aluminum with aluminum or steel poles is allowed, subject to the approval of the Director of Boats Harbors and Canals. Any dock installed shall not extend more than 15 feet from the bank and shall not restrict access to the neighboring docking areas or impede traffic in the canal. Tires shall not be used as bumpers.

7. The member assigned a dock space is personally responsible for maintaining the docking area including; installation and removal of any temporary dock as well as securing the boat using ropes and poles so as to prevent the boat from touching neighboring boats. A minimum of 3 tie points is recommended. Tying to stakes in the ground is permitted as long as the mowed path is not obstructed.

8. Failure to comply with the above terms and conditions may result in one or more of the following actions:

a.  Forfeiture of $50.00 deposit

b.  Loss of docking privilege for current season.

c.  Loss of docking privilege for following season.

d.  Permanent loss of docking privilege

9. WLO accepts no responsibility or liability for boats docked at the canal or for use of the boat dock space.

10. A docking partner is optional. Applicants are encouraged to pair up with a dock partner to conserve canal shoreline. Paired dockers are preferred and therefore will be drawn before non-partnered applicants.
