A Chance to Contribute to the Development
of NewCLEO Services
- This workshop will be a chance for schools to contribute ideas towards the development of the new projects outlined in the recent letter to headteachers from your Local Authority presenting future activities to meet the Harnessing Technology Strategy.
- As part of our forward planning for CLEO, your Local Authoritywould like to know whether howfuture planscan further add to the value that broadband brings to learners and teachers across Lancashire and Cumbria. Each school is invited to send one senior representative and we will provide supply cover (at standard LCCfull day rate) for all attendees.

Future Project Plans Include:
- Increased broadband connection speed to 10Mb for all primary schools
- Increased broadband connection speed to 100Mb for all secondary schools
- Fully funded replacement Edge Server (cache box) to continue hosting curriculum content and provide other services in each CLEO-connected school
- Online parental access to appropriate information from SIMS including reporting (December 2009)
- Provide each pupil with an E-portfolio including secure online storage space and a link to information from SIMS where appropriate (September 2009)
- Enhanced Moodle developments to enable teachers to find and share resources
- Linking the Moodle Virtual Learning environment (VLE) with Management Information System (MIS) to create a Managed Learning environment (MLE) with a customisable homepage with single sign-on (December 2009)
