AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SETTING OF RATES FOR CITY SERVICES AND PERMITS; PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT.

WHEREAS, it is imperative for the City of Quanah to establish rates for services and permits to meet the cost for these services; and

WHEREAS, these rate are re-reflected as income in the annual budget; and

WHEREAS, a public hearing on the said budget was duly held and all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard for or against these items:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF QUANAH, TEXAS:

Section 1. SERVICE CHARGES

Subsection A -The following rates for Water, Sewer, Sanitation, Fire Truck will be:

1.Water Rates as per attachment(A)

2.Sewerrates

(a)Residential

(1)$12.50 per month for the first 2,000 gallons of water - $17.00 per month for 3,000 gallons of water, thereafter $.77 per thousandgallons.

(2)Residentialsewageratewillcalculated onanactualmonthlyconsumption.

(b)Commercial:

(1)$17.00 per month for the first 3,000 gallons of water, thereafter $.77 per thousandgallons.

(2)Commercialsewage rate will be calculatedon an actual monthlyconsumption.

3.Sanitationrates

4.The charge for penalty on unpaid water bills after the 10th of the month will be 20% of thebill.

Subsection E -The charge for transfers, clean-up (less than 30 days), and vacation (up to 6 months) accounts connects will be twentyfive dollars ($25.00)

Subsection F - The charge for electrical license renewal will be twentyfive dollars ($25.00)

Subsection G -The charge for electric, sewer inspections will be twentyfive dollars ($25.00)

Subsection H -The charge for animal control fees will be fiftyfive dollars ($55.00) Subsection I- The charge for the City to mow lots will be fifty dollars ($50.00) per lot.

Subsection J- The charge for building permits will be twenty five dollars ($25.00) and four dollars ($4.00) per thousand, for permits up to and including $15,000.00. For a valuation over $15,000.00 up to and including $100,000.00 the fee shall be $45.00 for the first fifteen thousand plus $2.00 for each additional thousand. For a valuation over

$100,000.00 up to and including $500,000.00 the fee shall be $215.00 for the first one hundred thousand plus $1.00 for each additional thousand. For a valuation over

$500,000.00 up to and including $1,000,000.00 the fee shall be $615.00 for the first five hundred thousand plus $.40 for each additional thousand. For a valuation over

$1,000,000 the fee shall be $815.00 for the first million plus $.15 for each additional thousand.

Section 2. SEPARABILITY CLAUSE

Ifany section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word in this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of the ordinance and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity.

Section 3. REPEALING CLAUSE

Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed.

Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE

This ordinance will be in full force and effective from and after its adoption October 1, 2016.
