R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, School board members play an integral role in the important mission of educating the young people of our state, and these admirable community leaders are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; and
WHEREAS, Working in conjunction with parents and educators, school board members diligently strive to create an environment that is conducive to learning and meets the demanding needs of every student; and
WHEREAS, The efforts of these dedicated individuals have led to January of each year being designated School Board Recognition Month, and it is most fitting that we honor those who give so much of their time and energies to the great work of public education; and
WHEREAS, State House District 36 is fortunate in having many men and women who are committed to preparing our schoolchildren to face the myriad challenges and opportunities of the future; and
WHEREAS, These outstanding school board members include, from the EdcouchElsa Independent School District, Aaron Gonzalez, Esperanza Salinas, Ruben Rodriguez, Fidencio Garcia, Felix Garza, Jr., Leonel Lozano, and Michael Ozuna; from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District, Rodolfo Ramirez, Noe Garza, Jaime Moralez, Jaime Chavana, Gilbert Enriquez, Fred Guerra, and Xavier Salinas; from the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District, Omar Cano, Allan Brumley, Bob Dunkin, George McShan, Lee Means, and Bill Pietro; from the La Feria Independent School District, Alan Moore, Gloria Casa, Francisco Cobarrubias, John Callaway, Lalo Sosa, Jaime Vazquez, and Joel Villalon; from the La Joya Independent School District, Carmen Ramirez, Elma Garza, Amancio J. Chapa, Jr., Ruben E. Farias, Arturo Gonzalez, Jr., Cesar Ramirez, and Brenda Salinas; from the La Villa Independent School District, Alejos Salazar, Linda P. Rodriguez, Connie Villanueva, Mary Lou Duque, and Edward Cantu; from the Rio Hondo Independent School District, Mike Ochoa, Elisa Zuniga, Noemi Garza, Rolando Alfaro, Lina R. Arredondo, Hoss Lozano, and Thomas E. Wiesman; from the Santa Rosa Independent School District, Maria R. Bowman, Juan Manuel Perez, Robert Gutierrez, Hector Lumbrera, Isidoro Noriega, Ruben Canales, and Guadalupe A. Vasquez; and from the Sharyland Independent School District, Lowell Hudsonpillar, Linda Cardenas, Joe Williamson, Paul R. Rodriguez, Tony LaMantia, Joe Phillips, and Ramon Rosales; and
WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans have a stake, and it is most appropriate to pay tribute to those esteemed individuals who are making invaluable contributions to this significant undertaking; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas Legislature hereby commend the school board members from EdcouchElsa, Edinburg, Harlingen, La Feria, La Joya, La Villa, Lyford, Mercedes, Mission, Monte Alto, Rio Hondo, Santa Rosa, and Sharyland independent school districts for their distinguished service to their communities and the State of Texas and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for these school board members as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
