Newsletter

Dear Parents and Students:

Fall greetings! The leaves on the trees have begun to turn fall colors, it’s gotten noticeably cooler, and we are preparing to turn back our clocks.

November is the month in which we remember the saints of the Church (All Saints Day), remember those we have loved and have gone before us (All Souls Day), exercise our right to choose governmental leaders (Election Day), remember our military veterans (Veterans’ Day) and thank God for all that He gives us every day (Thanksgiving).

This year our school community will participate in a Thanksgiving service project that will benefit St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church food pantry. The donated cans and food will be used to supply needy families with a Thanksgiving meal. Please consider participating in this special service project that will benefit members of our community.

Many thanks to all those who participated in the Prestige Gift Catalog Sale. All the money raised from this voluntary fundraiser will be used to help the school. Thanks for your support!

Many thanks to all those who participated in the Scholastic Book Fair. All the money raised from this event was used to obtain 30 more Chromebooks for the school, along with computer carts to secure these devices. The addition of these Chromebooks will help in expanding the Blending Learning program to additional classrooms. Nativity School would like to specifically thank Ms. Jennifer Scott, Ms. Shantale Hughes, Mrs. Chalice Duncan, Mrs. Sashanna Crawford and Mrs. Teresa Tyler for their dedication of time to help make the fair a great success! I would also like to thank Mrs. Magnotta and Mrs. Wilson for their additional help in the assembly and pack up of the fair.

Nativity of Our Blessed Lady School was honored to have author Andy Bergmann visit our Kindergarten through Grade 3 students. He read his book “The Starry Giraffe” to the students and then helped the students create their own books. It was an exciting time for the students. The event was featured on News 12 The Bronx. I am currently in the process of tracking down the feature, which will be placed on the school website for all to see.

Nativity of Our Blessed Lady is proud to welcome Mrs. Kathleen Murray to the School Family. Mrs. Murray is the new Pre-K Red teacher. Mrs. Murray is excited to begin her tenure at the school and we are extremely happy to have her be a part of Nativity School.
