Age Divisions

 Tiny-Mite 5 - 6 year olds

 Mitey-Mite 7 - 8 year olds

 Peewee 9 - 10 year olds

 Supers 10 - 12 year olds

 Midgets 11 - 13 year olds

 Junior Varsity 12 - 14 year olds

 Varsity 13 - 15 year olds

Open Divisions

 Junior Open 5 – 12 years olds

 Senior Open 11 – 15 year olds

 Open 5 – 15 year olds

(**agesofcheerleaders based onJuly 31st on the year previous to the year in which the tournament is being held. EXAMPLE: If the tournament is being held in 2018 then the age is based on July 31st, 2017)

INCLUDES:

1.Cheer SpiritPack –thispackincludesSoffeshorts,TankTop andaCheerBowwithacoupleofdifferentstylechoices.

2.Cheer atFootballGames–teamscancheerateachoftheirteam’sfootballgames. Thisisoptional,cheerleaders cancheerforany team,andcan cheeras agroupofallcheerleaders orasdivisionalgroups.

3.Regular Season HalfTime Routines–Cheerleaderscan presenttheircheerleading routinesatthe halftimesofeachoftheirteam’sfootballgames.

4.Cheer Competition –EntertheYSFLCheercompetition. Therearea total often divisions. Teamscan enteras manydivisions as theywishforthe competition. Routines do not have tobethesame.(i.e.ifacheer teams has manypeewee age cheerleaders andonlyafewsupers age cheerleaders,theycan enter thePeewee divisionandJunior opendivisioninthe competition.)

5.PresentCompetitionCheerRoutinesatthe YSFL State Football Championships–TheYSFL providesupto24slots wherecheerleading teamscan presenttheirroutineson thefieldatstate games.Cheerleaderswillbeintroduced andtheirroutinesbroadcaston theYSFL StateJumbotron.

6.John WaltersSpiritAward –Each teamwillbeentitledtonominateonecheerleaderforthisawardthatispresentedattheYSFLState Championships. Thisaward recognizescheerleadersthathaveexcelledin theeducationalandcommunityservicearena.

7.Trophies–All competitionteams receivea teamtrophyandcheerleaders a winners or participationmedal.

GENERALITEMS:

1.Deadline forteamregistration–March9th each year.

2.NFHS(National FederationofStateHighSchoolAssociation) Spirit Rules for Cheerleadingshall apply

3.Cheer Uniforms not compulsory. TheYSFLdoesnot provide these.
