Did you know that annually SCSO Members volunteer more than 35,000 hours to bring quality choral orchestral classical music to our region?
It is time once again for the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra’s Annual Fundraiser: Singathon 2015
Individual SCSO Members are busy collecting pledges that they will honor by singing great Broadway music for 1.5 hours at our annual Singathon celebration from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM on February 12, at Sunrise Mall.
About our SCSO organization: The 170-voice SCSO Chorus, accompanied by its own professional orchestra and conducted by Dr. Donald Kendrick, presents concerts each season at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, Memorial Auditorium, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in downtown Sacramento and periodically at the UC Davis Mondavi Center.
What Your Donation Will Support:
Concert Production Costs:
Paid professional orchestra members
Performance venues – hall rental, stage hands etc.
Professional soloists
Our “reasonably-priced” ticket sales typically cover only about half of these expenses.
Education and Outreach Activities Costs:
Performances in the community
Free tickets to concerts for disadvantaged children and Veterans
Free tickets and subscriptions to fellow "Nonprofits" for special events (fundraisers, etc)
Educational Program Kits to Area High Schools
Program Book Printing - Extensive program notes,
Projected Supertitles for Classical Performances
Hosting guest artists, visiting ensembles
Special Events and Collaborations (Sampling)
Summer Sings for area singers
St. John's Shelter Fundraiser - Women and Children
Sacramento Children's Chorus
Wind Youth Center - Homeless and Runaway Teenagers
Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento
How we do not use the donated funds:
Our SCSO Concert tours – all self-funded by individual SCSO members.
Music scores, Practice CDs, Annual dues and Parking fees – All paid in full by SCSO Members
The SCSO is a 501(c)-3 California educational non-profit and your donation may be tax deductible.
