Welcome to CPFT Voluntary Services

Please note we require a minimum commitment of 6 months volunteering

What can I expect from my interview?
During the interview you will discuss the roles that interest you and your reasons for wanting to volunteer with the Trust. You will be talked through and asked to sign a code of conduct and volunteer agreement and will discuss the boundaries and ethics of being a volunteer and will be given an opportunity to ask any questions you may have! You will also be asked to provide 3 forms of ID to allow us to send for your DBS application form.
Please be aware that this interview is very informal and relaxed and is really an opportunity for you to learn more about volunteering and for us to learn a little more about you!

What we need from you following your interview:

Your DBS Certificate (previously CRB)
As a Trust we will only accept DBS certificates from the Trust or as part of the DBS update service. Certificates issued by the trust that are over a year old are not suitable and you will need to apply for a new one.
How does it work?
Once we have received your 3 pieces of ID we will make copies and sign and date them to say we have seen the originals. We will return the originals to you and send the copies to SERCO who use them to input details into their system such as your address or date of birth. Once this is complete they will email you an application form to fill in, previously we used paper applications but the process is all done via email now which means you will need an email address to complete this process. When you receive your application you will need to follow the instructions on the screen, once you have submitted your application you will receive a certificate in the post which we will need to see to confirm you are able to volunteer. If your clearance shows any offences we will need to send your details to human resources who will assess it on an individual basis.
What do I need to do?
1.  Provide us with three pieces of ID, following the requirements on the ‘Which ID do I need to provide?’ document on the next page. We will need to see the originals and any letters or statements must be dated within the past 3 months
2.  When you have received your email with the link to your application you must fill it in and return it as soon as possible
3.  When you have received your certificate you will need to either bring it in or post it to us at:

E-Learning modules completed
E-Learning is a set of online modules which cover things like how to stay safe whilst volunteering and how you can best help the people you are offering support to. These modules have to be completed by all staff working for the Trust, paid and unpaid.
How does it work?
Once you have had an interview you will be set up with an E-Learning account. The Learning team will send you an email with a link to the site and your login details (their email address is , it’s worth keeping an eye out in case it gets sent into your ‘junk’ email folder). Once logged in you will see your homepage and the modules you are required to complete, when you are up to date all modules will show as green and your homepage will show you as being 100% compliant!
What do I need to do?
1.  Log in to your account using the details emailed to you by the Learning team
2.  Click on each module, you will be taken to a new page which will provide you with the reading material for this module. You will then take the test (you cannot access the test without having first read the material)
3.  When all your modules show us as green and you are listed as 100% you can let us know you are now compliant!

(If you have any problems please feel free to contact the Learning team at )

Once all of these have been completed and cleared you are ready to begin volunteering!
