This recruitment is being conducted to fill two Deputy County Counsel positions in the Sonoma County Counsel's Office. Thesepositions will be filled at either the II or III level. Note: If you are interested in applying at the II level, you will need to apply to the separate, concurrent recruitment being conducted for that classification.

The Deputy County Counsel positions provide legal counsel to assigned County departments and are anticipated to focus primarily on transactional and advisory matters, but may occasionally work on administrative proceedings or litigations.One position will be assigned to the Office's Land Use Practice Groupand the other to the Infrastructure and PublicResources Practice Group.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Level II:

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed.Normally, one year of legal experience practicing civil or governmental law as a licensed attorney.

Level III:

Normally, two years of legal experience practicing civil law as a licensed attorney, at least one year of which was with a public agency performing duties comparable to a Deputy County Counsel II; or comparable experience in private practice.

Professional License: Current active membership in the State Bar of California (for both levels).
