Amion Entry

What it is:Amion is the schedule system the Hospital uses to show who is on what medicine team/service on any given day. We have to update it monthly using the color coded calendar.

Procedure:

  • You will be entering the following information, in whatever order you want to. You can use this as a checklist:
  • Blue Medicine Attending
  • Green Medicine Attending
  • Purple Medicine Attending
  • Red Medicine Attending
  • White Medicine Attending
  • Gray Medicine Attending
  • Gold Medicine Attending
  • Gold Medicine Midlevel (two rows of this one)
  • Backup Attending
  • Second Backup Attending
  • Silver and Bronze Medicine Attending
  • Glycemic Control NP (Balin’s Schedule)
  • Medical Assistant (When we hire one, you’ll put their schedule here)
  • Day PALS Attending
  • Night PALS Attending
  • Cards – HemeOnc – Family Medicine
  • Non-Medicine Service Transfers – Silvr
  • Cross Cover 2
  • Go to OnCall
  • NOTE: If someone has OnCall checked out, do not go into it and make changes and save your changes. This will undo the other person’s changes.
  • Make sure you’re in the call schedule (the red, crescent moon at the top. You can make sure you’re on today’s date by clicking the bull’s eye in the top left part of the call schedule.
  • It is easiest to have someone read the color-coded calendar to you as you enter. It goes by much faster.
  • You will fill in all of the attending physicians for the month for each category. For example, we’ll start with Blue Medicine.
  • Scroll to the Blue Medicine section (it will have a long gray triangle that indicates the start of the category and will be near the top). There are many sections that can be filled in: Intern, Extern, Resident, Attending, Medical Student and Sub-I. We only care about entering the attending.
  • Look at the color coded and find the blue team.
  • Start entering the code for that attending on the days they are scheduled to work.
  • Each attending has a unique identifier code that you use to place them on the schedule. These are defined in the Infobox that appears when you get into OnCall. For Example, Justin Roesch is JRe, Charlie Pizanis is CP. It is usually based on their initials. These are sometimes, but not always case sensitive, so you could enter “cp” and it’ll automatically change it to CP unless someone’s identifier code is “cp.” You can also click on the person’s name in the Infobox to put them onto the schedule (this is how it must be done with Patrick Rendon’s ID “PR” because it’ll default to “Pr” which is someone else’s)
  • These fields are similar to excel in that you can click on a cell and use Ctrl+c to copy and Ctrl+v to paste. You can hold down Shift and select many cells to copy and paste (easiest way to do the Medical Assistant and Glycemic Control Nurse).
  • All of the medicine teams are found on the color-coded calendar as well as both Gold Midlevel slots and both backup attendings. The Day and Night PALS attendings are also found on the color coded (the cells highlighted blue are night PALS attendings for that day, the yellow highlighted cells are day PALS attendings. It is really just a matter of entering the right names in the correct days.
  • Once all of the names from the color coded have been entered, that leaves you with the following sections to complete:
  • Glycemic Control Nurse
  • Medical Assistant
  • Cards – HemeOnc – Family Medicine
  • Non-Medicine Service Transfers – Silvr
  • Cross Cover 2
  • The Glycemic Control Nurse
  • This is Balin. She works four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday.
  • You will simply enter her ID on Mondays through Thursdays.
  • Her ID is “Bar”
  • Medical Assistant
  • This position hasn’t been filled as of the creation of this document, so that will be left blank for now. However, once that person has been hired, their schedule will need to be put into OnCall. It is usually as simple as putting them on Monday through Friday.
  • The Medical Assistant (generally) doesn’t work weekends. The one who will be hired might, you will need to confirm their schedule with them.
  • Cards – HemeOnc – Family Medicine
  • The entries for this correspond to the MICU Transfer Team colors (abbreviated), a few rows down
  • Enter the attending for the day based on the color team indicated on the MICU Transfer Row (using sticky notes is helpful to stay on the correct row)
  • Non-Medicine Service Transfer – Silver
  • Simply copy all of the silver attendings and paste them in this section.
