What is Never Enoughabout?

Never Enough Athletics is a Youth focused organization that reaches youth through athletics. Organized sports providesyouth with more then just skills in a given sport it provides them withhabits that leadto healthy development overall including, physical health, leadership skills, supportive relationships, positive social norms, self efficacy and mastery, and the self confidence it takes to excel in all areas of life. At NEA we are more then just athletics. We support our youth in all areas of need including tutoring and mentoring.

We believe that providingyouththe opportunity to belong and do positive things with their time leads to a healthier community. The more youth we can reach through our program the better our community is. Our philosophy is that all youth with the desire should be afforded the opportunity to participate in both recreational and competitive sports programs. In addition to individual and team skill development, Never Enough seeks to foster the development of the “whole” child including such life skills as sportsmanship, mutual respect, integrity, responsibility, work ethic, teamwork, and friendship.

Unfortunately in our society inequities in opportunity continue to persist. Socio-economic status, gender, race, and environment, all impact ayouth’s ability and opportunity to participate in and gain access to youth sports. In addition, youth sports programs are becoming more and more expensive and competitive. If youth don’t have the opportunity to build skills early it can be difficult to make their junior high and high school teams often leaving them with little structure or activity to look forward to. Lack of structure and motivationcan lead to poor outcomes and behavioral issue that impact individuals, families and communities.

At NEA we strive to keep our costs down but it still costs around $600.00 to support a youth in our basketball program. We are also seeking to expand our tutoring and mentoring programs.

We do not want cost to be a barrier and we are seeking donation to support youth to participate in NEA basketball as well at our education and mentoring programs. Thanks to last year’s donors, especially Interwest Insurance, we were able to provide 8 full time scholarships and 8 partial scholarships to youth that would not have otherwise been able to participate. Most of these youth want to return and we are seeking help in being able to support them as well as additional youth and families that need the assistance.

Our Goals include:

  • Provide scholarships that allow opportunity to a larger breadth of our community including at risk youth and those without the financial means to participate in organized athletics
  • To build in our youth the fundamental skills needed to excel academically, behaviorally and athletically
  • To support single parents, grandparents and other non-traditional caregivers in providing healthy activities to the children in their care

Thank you for your consideration in supporting Youth in their desire to participate in the Never Enough Athletics program. Please take a look at our website for more information neverenoughathletics.org. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact us.
