(Half-Term 1) /
This half term I will learn:

 - > What is Art Nouveau, and what are the characteristics demonstrated in Gaudi’s architecture?
 - >The influence of natural form on architectural design.
 - Media/Mediums
 - > How to create a well composed collage of images to fill an A5 page
 - >How to record accurately from secondary sources of architectural imagery
 - >How to use drawing pencil and coloured pencil with success.
 - Techniques / Technology
 - >How to create an observational drawing outline in feint pencil.
 - > How to blend a variety of tones and shades using coloured pencil building on previous knowledge of colour mixing with paint in year 7.
 - >How to use a range of mark making skills to create different effects when recording accurately.
 - > How to apply shading and tone to create2D & 3D depth to images.
 - >How to create mosaic effects using coloured pencil.
 
A baseline assessment testing you observational drawing skills to create an accurate pencil architectural drawing– The assessment will also be marking you on your use of tone and shade. / Key Terms I will learn this half term:

Week 1 &2 – I will be able to:
- Complete a baseline assessment in Art – Focus is on an observational 2b architectural drawing.
 
1 A4 Page of images of Gaudi’s buildings.
Week 3 & 4 – I will be able to:
- Discuss research and create a collage based on Gaudi’s buildings using the images collected for homework.
 - Understand how to use a brush to create a basic tonal wash.
 - Learn how to understand and identify a good well balanced collage / composition.
 
- 5 Key facts about Gaudi’s designs / architecture
 
Week 5 & 6 – I will be able to:
- Learn how to record accurately to create a well-balanced composition.
 - Learn how to blend colored pencils to create a range of tones and shades.
 
Week 7 - I will be able to:
- Discuss how to create a design for a 3D sculpture.
 - Experiment with ideas / drawings to create a design for a 3D ceramic sculpture using your sketchbook.
 - Annotate your designs where appropriate to heighten understanding.
 
- You must try to draw the design to appear 3D on a flat surface
 - Think about techniques that you may want to use in clay – eg. Cutting out holes, raising areas, adding texture and mark-making.
