As well as holding the Pairs competition entries back in May, we are again running the 4-man team Texas Scramble event to see which Branch/Group can claim to have THE best team in Hampshire!
We’re returning to the Greenwood at East Horton on Monday 13th November, which is many peoples’ favourite course, and is located near Marwell and Fair Oak,
As we are playing later in the season we have secured a very good deal, the entry fee for each team of four being £120 (£30 pp). This will include your green fee, coffee and bacon roll on arrival, and a bar special meal after plus a contribution to prizes (breakfasts extra), so you can’t say fairer than that! Buggies are available at extra cost, please contact the Course direct to book. There will be no requirement for formal wear afterwards and the meal will be served on a roll-up basis when you finish your round. Tee-offs will be from 10am, from the YELLOW MARKERS.
What is a Texas Scramble?
Each player drives off and the ‘captain’ decides which drive is best. All other players then pick their ball up and proceed to the point of the best drive. They each play from there, placing their ball not more than six inches from the original ball position. (If in the rough, balls must be dropped). The team continues this way until one ball is holed, and that ball is the ‘scorer’ for that hole.
Team handicap will be calculated on 10% of the accumulative total and the maximum handicaps are allowed, i.e.28 for men, 36 for ladies.
Each competitor will have to take a minimum of three drives each. There will also be individual Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin, and NTP in 2 competitions also.

Complete the entry form attached and return to me at the address shown, ensuring that a cheque is enclosed for £120 and made payable to me (R.J.Bourne). To avoid disappointment, do not delay as entry will be on a first come basis. (Room for 12 teams only). Closing date is MONDAY 6th November
