COURSE TITLE:

City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the Safe Application of Pesticides Using Self Propelled, Mounted, Trailed Horizontal Boom Sprayers.

Unit 111 Operating Mounted, Trailed and Self Propelled Hydraulic Nozzle or Rotary Atomiser Horizontal Boom Sprayers

WHAT DOES THE SUBJECT INCLUDE?

This course covers the legislative and safety regulations relating to the application equipment, assessment of environment factors, interpretation of product information, calibration of applicator, the operation of the equipment and post operational procedures

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE?

One days training, 9am till 4.15 plus a one to one practical assessment

The assessment is with an independent assessor and will be made up of both practical assessment and one to one questioning. The recommended duration for this is between 2.5 to 3.0 Hours.

IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role then you are legally required by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986) (as amended) to take this qualification.

This qualification is designed for those who are required,to use either self-propelled, mounted or horizontal boom sprayers as part of their daily role.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

Candidates must hold a qualification the Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides. (PA1)

The cost of the course is£230 this covers the training, the candidates registration with the National Proficiency test Council (NPTC) and the assessment.

The next course will take place at our Walford Campus on the 13 February 2018

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

You will need to provide your own personal protective equipment and this must comply with up to date legal requirements. E.G. Coveralls – level 5 or 6, Rubber gloves, Wellington boots or waterproof footwear and a full protection face shield.

In this qualification there are 4 additional units, these are listed below and all require separate training and assessment if required by the end user. Information regarding these is available on request.
