What a beautiful day for football. Nary a cloud in the sky, and a nice breeze blowing across the field. Matt Twardowski (#77), Michael Zienty (#12), Michael Cano (#31), and Colton Moses (#42) go to the center of the field for the coin toss. Clear Lake will receive the ball.

Clear Lake fielded the following players for the kick return: Chase Efird (#27), Nicholas Mucha (66), Gatlin Dryer (#60), Jerry Surber (#43), Stewart Clement (51), Colton Moses, Tung Le (#20), Cody Rodgers (#91), Taylor See (44), Joseph Ebrom (#94), and Justin Jordan (#22) who returned the ball 10 yards. The starting offensive line consisted of: Jesus Tejada (76), Ben Vail (#78), Nathan Elling (#53 – center), Brandon Kattner (#64), and Stephen Chapman (#74). The receivers to start the game were Matt Bailey (#80) and Rance Wood (#9). The drive began with a 7-yard run and a 1-yard run by Michael Cano. Then Justin Jordan broke a run around the left side for 13 yards and a 1st down. A 4-yard run by Jerry Surber took the ball to mid-field, where Jerry slipped down on a 7-yard run and a 1st down. Michael Zienty then kept the ball and ran down the right side to the 25-yard line and a 1st down. Justin Jordan added 4 yards on the left side. Then Jerry Surber gained 6 more yards up the middle and a 1st down. Michael Zienty kept the ball again and followed the block of Jesus Tejada and gained 6 yards, then kept the ball again on the next play and earned another 4 yards and a 1st down. Michael Cano gained 2 yards, while Justin Jordan lost 2 yards. A pitch to Jerry Surber lost 7 more yards and brought up a 4th and goal from the 10-yard line. Zienty’s pass to Rance Wood was good for the touchdown. Jerry Surber ran around the right side into the end zone on the extra point attempt, but the play was called back for a Holding penalty of 10 yards. The pass attempt was incomplete. Falcons lead: 6 – 0

Clear Lake fielded their kick-off team of: Joshua McMillin (#8), Cody Rodgers, Tre Webb (#93), Chase Efird, Gatlin Dryer, Colton Moses, Rance Wood, Dillon Rambin (#14), Joseph Ebrom, and Nicholas Mucha, and Max Fender (#84 – kicker). The Clear Creek returner got 6 yards before Michael Zienty and Joshua McMillin combined on the tackle. Joseph Martello tripped up the runner for a 1-yard gain. Then Tre Webb batted down a pass attempt bringing up a 4th and long 2. Clear Creek’s punt rolled to the 24-yard line.

The Falcon’s drive began with a 1-yard loss and then a 1st down run to the 38-yard line by Jerry Surber. Tung Le finished the quarter with a 1st down run to mid-field. Chase Efird started the 2nd Quarter with a 6-yard run. The Falcon’s did some substituting with their receivers, bringing in Scott Douglas (#85) and Minh-Tuan Ha (#5) on Michael Cano’s 1st down run. Then Christian Shea (#99) and Ryan Lemoine (#88) pulled the receiver duties for a pitch to Tung Le that didn’t gain any yards. The quarterback, Michael Zienty, kept the ball for a run up the left side all the way to the 23-yard line and a 1st down. Chase Efird added a 3-yard run and Michael Zienty went around the left side and stepped out-of-bounds at the 7-yard line. Colton Moses got the Falcons inside the 5-yard line, before Justin Jordan fumbled the hand-off, but recovered it. The QB finished off the drive with a touchdown run around the left side. The conversion by Michael Zienty was successful as well, giving the Falcons a 14 – 0 lead.

Chase Efird made the tackle on the kick return at the 30-yard line. Joseph Martello, Matt Twardowski, Colton Moses, Chase Efird, and Ben Ainsworth (#73) were all in on the tackle of the pass receiver that failed to gain any yardage for Clear Creek. Then a great hit by Tung Le forced a fumble and he recovered the ball at the 40-yard line.

Chase Efird started the drive with a run behind the new offensive line of: Patrick Englett (#54), Nicholas Mucha, Nicolas Ngo (#70 – center), Ben Ainsworth, and Stewart Clement. Dillon Rambin is the QB and Taylor See (#44), and Kamrin Lindberg (#7) are the receivers. Colton Moses had a 2-yard run, followed by a 1st down run to the 23-yard line. Chase Efird breaks loose for a touchdown, but came up short on the conversion. Falcons lead: 20 – 0.

The Falcons tried an on-side kick, but Clear Creek fielded the ball and returned it to the Clear Lake 35-yard line. Creek pulled a trick play, with the running back throwing a pass that was complete for a 1st down at our 10-yard line. Tre Webb then made a tackle at the 5-yard line. A False Start penalty on Creek set them back 5 yards bringing up a 2nd and 10 at the 10. Colton Moses applied good pressure to the QB, and the pass was incomplete. Creek called a time out with 1:25 left in the half. Coming out of the break, they threw a pass for a touchdown and kicked the extra point. The Falcon’s lead the game, 20 – 7.

Chase Efird received the kick on the left side and reversed course, running all the way across the field before being tackled at the Clear Lake 25-yard line. Michael Zienty kept the ball and ran for 4 yards. Then the Falcon’s tried a trick play, with running back Jerry Surber getting hit as he passed the ball … it was intercepted and returned to the Clear Lake 26-yard line.

Wade Paul (#52) and Nicholas Mucha teamed up for the tackle after a gain of 7 yards. Creek calls another time out with :07 remaining. They then try another trick play, with two lateral passes that was snuffed out for a loss by Nicholas Mucha, bringing the 1st half to a close.

The Falcon’s Gatlin Dryer started the 2nd half with a tackle of the kick returner at the 23-yard line. Chase Efird made a tackle after Creek gained 7 yards. Then an incomplete pass (possibly a lateral) to the left side is incomplete. The QB then rolled out to the right and was tackled by Matt Twardowski for a loss of 1, bringing up a 4th and 4. Nicholas Mucha, Tre Webb, and Wade Paul all contributed on a tackle that required a measurement … 1st down for Creek. Colton Moses then intercepted a pass and returned it to the Clear Creek 31-yard line.

Jerry Surber started the drive with a 1 yard run, but then ended the drive with a fumble at the 15-yard line.

Matt Twardowski started a defense stand with a tackle for a 1-yard gain. Then Colton Moses only allowed 2 yards by the receiver. An Illegal Procedure penalty set Creek back 5 yards bringing up a 3rd and 12. Jerry Surber’s earlier fumble was redeemed when he intercepted Creek’s halfback pass at the Creek 20-yard line.

The Falcons wasted no time as Michael Zienty ran around the right side for a touchdown. Tung Le converted the extra point and the Falcon’s took a 28 – 7 lead.

Cody Rodgers made the tackle on the kick return. Then Charles Campise (#50) and Avery Garcia (#62) combined on a tackle for 2 yards. James Countie (#83), Charles Campise, and Colton Finnigan (#81) combined on the tackle after Creek gained enough for a 1st down. Clear Creek then crossed mid-field and got another 1st down before Avery Garcia and Dillon Rambin combined on the tackle. Another 9 yards was gained before Avery and Dillon again combined on the tackle. John Coyle (#55) and Stewart Clement combined on a tackle after another 1st down. This is where the defense got tough. Garrett Moore (#92) stopped the runner for 2 yards. Then Stewart Clement stopped the runner for 5 yards. A gang tackle at the line of scrimmage left Clear Creek needing 3 yards to get a 1st down. Colton Moses makes the tackle that gives the Falcon’s the ball, with :38 left in the 3rd Quarter.

Jerry Surber gained 4 yards on the right side, followed by a 1st down run around the left side by Justin Jordan. Jerry Surber gains another 6 yards up the middle, with Logan Akers (#30) gaining 3 more. Justin Jordan was stopped for no gain, bringing up a 4th and 1. An Off-side penalty on Creek gave the Falcon’s a 1st down. Tung Le gained 6 yards following a good block by Joseph Martello, who is in the backfield. Then Joseph Martello gets a 1st down with a run around the left side. Michael Zienty keeps the ball for 4 yards. The Falcon’s bring in Dillon Rambin as QB and Nicolas Ngo as center. Tung Le tries to fight through 3 tacklers. Justin Jordan stumbles his way for a big 1st down to the 23-yard line. A toss to the left side allows Justin Jordan to make a cut back to the right and score a touchdown. Big Ben Ainsworth is brought into the backfield for the extra point conversion. Ben gets the ball, but is held short of the goal line. Falcons lead 34 – 7.

This time, the Falcon’s field a new kick-off team: James Casiano (#95), Christian Mendoza (#65), Steven Rodriguez (#98), Patrick Englett, James Minick (#86), Austin Orr (#67), William Gales (#61), Mason Miller (#24), Joseph Ebrom (kicker), Jace Pido (#21) and Ryan Lemoine who made the tackle after a long run-back to the Clear Lake 29-yard line. Steven Rodriguez makes the tackle at the 7-yard line. Then Christian Mendoza and others make the tackle at the 2-yard line. A quick snap catches the inexperienced Falcon defense off guard and Clear Creek scores a touchdown. A Facemask penalty on the Falcon’s will be assessed on the kick-off. Creek fakes the kick and passes it for a 2 point conversion. Falcons now lead 34 – 15 with 3:10 left in the game.

Nicholas Mucha cleanly handles the on-side kick attempt, and the Falcon’s decline the Illegal Procedure penalty called on Creek. The new offensive line of: Patrick Englett, Nicholas Mucha, Michael Velasquez (#90 – center), Ben Ainsworth, and Stewart Clement take the field. Kamrin Lindberg and Joshua McMillin are in as receivers, with Dillon Rambin as QB. Chase Efird had a touchdown run called back for an Illegal Block in the Back penalty, bringing the ball back to the Clear Lake 36-yard line. Chase is then tackled for a 5-yard loss, creating a 2nd and 25. Tung Le gets a nice 15-yard run, and Creek calls a time out with 1:37 left. Joseph Martello gains 1 yard and brings up a 4th and 9. The first string offense returns, and turns the ball over on downs with an incomplete pass play.

The Falcon defense now consists of: Mason Miller, Joseph Ebrom, Ibraham Zanayed (#63), James Minick, James Casiano, Jace Pido, Ryan Lemoine, Stephen Chapman, Jerry Surber, William Gales, and Tre Webb. Joseph Ebrom and Ryan Lemoine team up to run the ball carrier out-of-bounds at the 31-yard line. Then Jace Pido breaks up a pass play. William Gales and Mason Miller combine on a tackle for a gain of 5 yards. Creek’s QB fumbles the snap, recovers, scrambles, and throws an incomplete pass with :30 left in the game. Stephen Chapman and James Casiano combine on the tackle that prevents Creek from getting the 1st down.

The Falcon’s take over on downs, kneel on the snap and run the clock out.
