Meeting News

Our last meeting was held on Thursday, November 19th, 2015 at Polytec, Inc. in Mooresville, NC. Lindsay Harmon Shoaf with Polytec was gracious enough to provide us with utilization of their facility to have the meeting along with being a great ‘host’ and our ‘speaker’ for the session. This meeting was about “Needs to Know: Acids and Bases.” Mrs. Shoaf also provided a brief tour of the facility for our attendees. I would personally like to send our ‘great’ appreciation to Mrs. Shoaf and providing such a wonderful, informative session (along with her great banana pudding)! Anyway, our meeting was a big success, and provided an informative and interesting presentation for our members. One other thanks: The WNCLAA Chair Members would also like to send a TREMENDOUS THANK YOU to Ms. Whitney Munroe with the Town of Mooresville for assisting with getting the food!!

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, March17th, 2016at the Moore Room at The Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville. A room was reserved by Ms. Whitney Munroe (our Co-Chair and Town of Mooresville employee). This meeting will be our traditional “Annual Ask the Auditor” session in which we invite representatives from NCDENR to come and serve on a panel in order to ask any questions or issues that our members may have. For this year, our invited guests will include the following from NCDENR: Ms. Dana Satterwhite from the Raleigh Regional office, Mr. Gary Francies from the Asheville Regional office, Mr. Jason Smith from the Asheville Regional Office, Mr. Nick Jones from the Raleigh Regional office, Ms. Beth Swanson with the Raleigh regional office, Mr. Wes Bell from the Mooresville Regional office and Ms. Barbara Sifford from the Mooresville Regional office. We have a great panel, so please plan to attend. And, as always, for this meeting, please feel free to bring any questions or concerns you may have for the attendees!!

Please note that directions are supplied below. The Laboratory Committee will be providing refreshments for those who attend. We would like to thank Mrs. Whitney Munroe of the Town of Mooresville for all her hard work for facilitating this event (i.e. for getting the food). We would also like to think the Town of Mooresville for hosting this event and for providing the great food!!! As always, it would be greatly appreciated if you could email or phone WHITNEY MUNROE or NICOLE JOHNSTON about the number who will be attending from your municipality or facility. (PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR CONTACT INFORMATION.)
