EMERGENCY AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

The Emergency and Disaster Management (EMGT) Program, within the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, invites applications for potential, non-tenure track, part-time faculty positions at the rank of Visiting Instructor to teach courses within the EMGT degree program via distance learning. It is anticipated that the program will begin in August 2004. Candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in emergency management or a closely related discipline, with a Ph.D. preferred. Candidates must also possess demonstrated work experience in the realm of emergency management. Prior teaching experience in higher education is strongly preferred, with experience in distance education a plus. Since the courses will be taught using WebCat (Blackboard), there is no requirement for either instructors or students to be located on or near campus.

The distance learning program in Emergency and Disaster Management is geared towards the working professional, who possesses at least 60 college credits and who is currently employed in emergency management or a directly-related field.
