Discussed devising Newsletters for both Shipley and Westcliffe Medical Practice /
  • Both Manda and Claire have agreed to give this another go and aim for the next edition at the end of June quarter

PPG members mentioned would like a copy of the last meeting minutes to be emailed to them at the same time as receiving the next new meeting agenda /
  • Both Manda and Claire agreed
  • Emma will then send to the PPG members so they can read before the next meeting

Discussed Access & Care Plans /
  • Discussed current Access and care plans – JulieWinterbottom went through access plans and stated that these would be continuing as a whole group
  • PPG members all agreed would like to pro-actively be more involved with these within the next coming year
  • Julie Winterbottom agreed that was a good idea & will discuss at the next April PPG Meeting

Practice Health champions /
  • Mandaupdated everyone onthe positivefeedback from the work carried out by the Practice Health Champions from both staff and patients.
  • Waiting room support from the PHC has been very helpful for the reception team & patients.
  • ‘Coffee Morning’ organised every Wednesday for 2 hours for patients to attend. This will give guidance to start social & activity groups & work on what interests them

DNA Policy /
  • Discussed the impact on patients and practice
  • PPG members concerned the impact on vulnerable pts – Julie explained these are closely monitored & discussed with Gp Partners before any removal
  • Discussed implementing a paragraph within the 2nd DNA letter offering the patient a chance to come into the surgery & discuss any concerns they may have with regards to not attending their appointments with one of our PHC or PSM
  • Also talked about how to gather information on ‘trends’ & ‘factors’ on types of DNA appts,e.g. Gender,age, mental health issues, drug & alcohol issues, cultural barriers, deprivation, opening hours etc.

People’s Board /
  • Emma is the chair of the people’s board and will have more information regarding this at our next PPG meeting

MjogSMS Reminder - update /
  • Discussed new Mjog software tool we implemented from December
  • Reduced DNA’s appointments
  • Works well with sending patient’s direct information messages
  • Helped with QOF – patients can respond back

Pharmacy First – update /
  • Discussed Pharmacy First Scheme will cease on 31.05.17
  • Gluten free products have also ceased from repeat prescribing - PPG member mentioned that Sainsbury’s are now stocking fresh gluten free bread

Useful literature leaflets /
  • PPG member left some useful literature leaflets for us to distribute to GP’s on ‘Mind for better mental health’ and also Hive Bradford workshop
  • PPG Member said would also discuss this at the next coffee morning with the PHC

Introduction from new PPG member /
  • Introduction from new PPG member who is sits as a public governor for the BRI
  • Asked regarding secondary care feedback
  • PPG members gave some of their personal experiences with secondary care appointments from their recent past
  • Discussed sustainability and transformation plan STP’s – more information regarding this to follow

Extended Hours Hubs proposal
Update Notice Boards/Websites /
  • Julie Winterbottom briefly mentioned new proposals for ‘Extended Hours’
  • 3 x hubs in Bradford will be set up for routine appointments for extended hours
  • Julie will discuss in more detail when more information is available
  • PPG members mentioned to keep an eye on updating patient notice boards and websites
