The end of a lovely summer holiday, I hope you all enjoyed all the pony club events. For those who took school exams I hope you got the grades you required. It gives me great pleasure to see you all of you getting such enjoyment from your riding.
Camps: All camps were very successful and we are so lucky to have such marvelous venues for camps. Thank you to Alec and Emily Lochore, the Thompson Family and Anthony and Vicki Ringer for having us.
Teams: Over 42 people represented the West Norfolk in area and inter branch events at all different levels and mostly we came home with rosettes. Well done and thank youto everybodyinvolved, including drivers grooms and helpers.
We introduced some new events this summer that went exceedingly well: The junior ODE, the Fun Day, and Mini Triathlon/Tetrathalon. All these took a lot of organisation and helpers, a big thank you to all those involved.
Test days went well but please contact Janis if you wish to take a test, especiallythe B test which acts as a qualification for all sorts of things. It is lovely to see the younger riders with armfuls of badges on their sweatshirts.
Please support the winter dressage league, it was very noticeable how confident and at home the younger riders have become in a dressage arena and this transfers into the show jumping and XC . If your horse or pony can produce a good canter on a 20 metre circle then jumping improves.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who hosts rallies or camps for us, my very hard working committee and all the parents and helpers without whom we couldn't function .
Jane Cross is going to organise some Easter training for teams, so please get in touch with her by email if you are interested in teams giving your details and email address.
We are also going to give you a list of other PC one day events indicating which are suitable for which age group and standard. People working towards Bloom cup and novice area should try and do some of them.
Karen Willis has taken over the organization of Tetrathalon for the WNPC so anybody interested please contact her, quite a few PC branches run triathlons too so siblings who don't ride can take part.
Do look after your ponies well this winter and if you are going hunting please make sure your ponies are fit and well and only stay out for an appropriate length of time
